The feud started in Ulrich's grandfathers time.The two families had a fight between an illegal possession of a neighboring family's land. This fight was between the Gradwitz and Znaeyms -
The forest
The forest was somewhere in the Carpathians Mtns. A man stood in the forest on a cold winter night. -
Ulrich meets Georg
As he stepped around a huge beech he was face to face with Georg. The two enemies stood glaring at each other, -
The storm
The storm was ferocious. Before either of them could raise their rifle to shoot each other lihtning struck a tree. -
Tree falling
A fierce shreik of lightning hit a tree. Before they could leap out of the way the tree fell on them. -
Helpless hunters
Ulrich found himself stretched on the ground one arm pinned beneath him and the other tangled in tree branches. At his side Georg struggled to get free. -
Mocking Ulrich
"So you're not killed as u ought to be but you're caught anyway" said Georg "Ho what a jest Ulrich is snared in his stolen forest." -
To the Death
"We fight this quarrel out to the death, you and i and our foresters,with no cursed interlopers to come between us. Death to you Ulrich Von Gradwitz -
Gracious Act
Ulrich reached to his coat pocket for his wine flask. A little left in it he said to Georg "If i throw this to you do you think you can reach it." -
Peace Treaty
"If my men come first i change my mind i will let you go. Let this feud be over." -
Call For Help
"Lets shout for help" said Ulrich. "Our voices won't carry far but we can try." -
Wolves are coming
