The spinning jenny affected society becasue it separated cotton fibers from their seeds, allowing for much greater productivity than manual cotton separation. This led to greater prodution of cotton and decrease in price of cotton. -
The Steam Engine - james watt
The steam engine was able to make life easier by cutting the workload of people. The goods could be produced with less labor. This was also what gave us the ability to transport goods from one place to another cutting down on travel time. -
Textile Mills - Samuel Slater
The Textile Mills had a great and dangerous impact on people"s lives and society. The women that would work with the textile mills would have developed lung ailments, and many would have eye probelms. Accidents were common and the textile mills were an ovarall physically dangerous place to work at.. However it did increase the rate of cloth and clothing production which benefited the market. -
Locomotive - George stephenson
The locomotive changed society becasuse people changed from transporting goods using horses to using the locomotive. People transported goods over distances much more conveniently than they could before this invention. -
The Revolver - Samuel Colt
The revolver not only allowing western expansion, but gave basic self defence to pioneers and citizens. It changed the ways of armed combat and the ways of how wars were fought. -
Telegraph - Samuel F. B. Morse
Samuel's telegraph changed long distsance communication completely. It changed society becasue people no longer have to travel distance to deliver a message. The society is able to send messages using morse code at ease and at a much faster rate. -
Dynamite - Alfred Nobel
Dynamite made many impacts on the society. The dynamite effected society in good and bad ways. Dynamite became the go to tool for many projects, People began to use it in any way that they thought seemed fit. People's use of dynamite helped raise the society, while but others broke it down. Because the society had access to a new energy it caused some disagreements. Some did not realize the power of dynamite and misused it while others used it right. -
Telephone - Alexander Graham Bell
When the telephone was invented it had an impact on many people's lives aswell as the society. The telephone gave creation of jobs since there are several job positions that the telephone could bring, and this also allowed people to get closer, making communication easier on long distances. -
Phonograph - Thomas Edison
The phonograph is a machine that records and plays voices. The phonograph changed society and people's daily lives in terms of music appreciation by allowing people to share music and making it easier to reproduce sound. People didn't need be in a concert hall to listen to music. Eventually orchestral music became more accessible with the phonograph. -
Electric lightbulb - Sir Joseph Wilson Swan
The invention of the light bulb allowed society to work for much longer hours. It aslo helped people to move and travel around safely into the dark areas or at night time.
