Chapter 1
Nick goes to Daisy and Tom house for the day and Nick discovers that Tom has another lady friend. Daisy also tells nick that she has become a cynical woman and when she had her baby girl she hoped that her daughter would grow up to be a pretty little fool. -
Chapter 2
Tom takes Nick out to New York so he can meet Myrtle. Nick discovers that Myrtle is the woman that Tom is having an affair with. While at the flat Nick hears that the only reason that Tom hasnt divorced Daisy and married Myrtle is because Tom says Daisy is Catholic. Nick finds this strange because Daisy is not Catholic. -
Chapter 3
Today Nick recieved an inventation to attend Gatsby's party that night. He is the only one. At this party he meets with Jordan (a friend of Daisy's) and together the search through the party to find Gatsby. they hear extravagant stories about gatsby. "Hes killed a Man," "he was a German spy!" Nick had no idea what to believe until he finally met Gatsby for himself. Gatsby seems nice and friendly to Nick and had a smile that was rare to come upon. -
Chapter 4
Gatsby takes Nick to lunch and tells him that he is going to ask a big favor of Nick. Nick meets a man that knows Gatsby and is said to have fixed the 1919 World Series, his name was Meyer Wolfsheim. After that he met with Jordan at Gatsby's request. and she tells Nick how Gatsby and Daisy had been in love with eachother before the war. Gatsbys big request of him, was to invite Daisy to tea. -
Chapter 5
Gatsby is nervous to meet Daisy in this chapter. It has been 5 years since they last saw eachother and it will be quite a big change since the last time they spoke. at first when they sstarted talking things were awkward between them and Nick decided to leave. Once he came back tho they were laugh and chatting like old friends. -
Chapter 6
This chapter gives details into Gatsbys past. this shows us that he has been hiding his past and appaerently hiding from it. James Gatz as he was legally called was an unsuccesful farmers child, but the man who was Nick's neighbior was Jay Gatsby, the man who had it all. -
Chapter 7
All the staff at Gatsbys has changed. and the parties have begun to die down. his new staff was rugged, stiff, and rude.this is the chapter where things about Gatsby and his bootlegging business was spilled out in the open and daisy decides that she no longer wants to be with hiim. -
Chapter 8
In the previous chapter Myrtle was killed by somebody driving gatsbys car. It was Daisy, however Gatsby will take the blame for her in this chapter Wilson scrounges all of New York to see who it was and finds out that it was Gatsbys Car. kKnowing this Wilson goes and kills Gatsby, and himself. -
Chapter 9
Now that Gatsby has been killed Nick is trying to find people to attend the funeral but nobody will come. its strange that people will come to his parties, but noby will attend his funeral. also Gatsbys father has come out of the shodows and is the only one who attends the funeral with Nick
