    The Francs under Clovis, and in agreement with Anastasius I of the Byzantine Empire defeat the Visagoths forcing them to retreat back to Spain. Clovis himself kills Alaric II

    Muhammad got revalations for Allah which he recoreded in a book called the Quran. The basis of Islamic theolgy. He's consisdered Islam's most important prophet.

    The first Arab Siege of Constantinople

    Major conflict in Byzantine-Arab war. It tested Constantinople's defenses. It was fought between the years of 674-678 under the leadership of caliph Muawiyah I and Constitine the IV. Byzantines won by naval for which ensured resuppliment by sea and the Arabs were beset to starvationin the winter.

    The East-West Schism, also called the Great Schism formally divided the State Church of the Roman Empire into Eastern (Greek) and Western (Latin) braches. Which later bacame known as the Eastern Orthodox Church and the Roman Catholic Church respectively.

    Charlemange was crowned Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire by Pope Leo III making him the 1st emperor of the Holy Roman Empire. He has been callled the the "Father of Europe". He is the greatest King of the Middle Ages

  • Alfred the Great assumes the throne

    He was the first king of the United Kingdom. Defended England form Viking invaders, formed new laws, and fostered a rebirth of scholory and religious activities.

  • Treaty of Verdun signed

    Signed by the grandsons of Charlemenge, Divided the Carolingian Empire, into 3 kingdoms for the three men. Ended the three year long Carlingian Civil War
