    Napoleon Bonaparte was born in Corisca, which was considered to be a French ruled island. At only nine years of age he was sent to military school where he later finished at 16 years old to become an officer of the French Army.

    Becoming an Officer in the French Army
    At only nine years old Napoleon was sent to France to train for his military carrer. In just a few years he finally obtained his shot to become the Officer of the French Army

    Napeleon led and expidtion into Eygpt agianst the British and got destroyed. He was able to aviod France knowing about the heavy loses. This allowed him to maintain his populatrity.

    This Coup d'état overthrew the system of government under the Directory. This played a huge role in Napoleon rising to power. This event is also looked at as the official end of the French Revolution.

    The Grand Empire refers to France's military at its very highest point with Napoleon as Emporer. Napolean had many European forces, he redrew the map of Europe and ruled through the power of his military. Britian later faught The Grand Empire by relying on their sea power, Britian also attacked American ships which caused the war of 1812.

    Napoleonic Code
    This Code written by Napoleon, gave the country a uniform set of laws and eliminated many injustices. However, it actually limited liberty and promoted order and authority over individual rights. Also improving the rights of man while it reduced women's rights, also reinstating slavery.

    This event took place at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, where he designed a new coronation that was used for kings in france. He was not coronated as King, however he coronated himself as emperor.

    The Battle of Trafalgar
    The Battle of Trafalgar was a major battle which Napoleon had lost. Losing this battle ensured the supermacy of the British navy for 100 years. Another reason this loss was so important was because it made Napoleon give up his plans to invad Britian. This also meant Napoleon would have to look for another way to take control of his most powerful enemy.

    Joseph Bonaparte was the older brother of Napoleon who was King of Spain from 1808- 1813. He was no only the King of Spain but King of Naples and Sicily as well.
  • The Battle of Wagram

    The Battle of Wagram
    During the Battle of Wagram, Austria and Spain team up against the French. France later tries to invade Spain, when they fail, well armed French forces came with a brutal repression. However, many spanish patriots attempted the "hit and run" tactic to weaken France. This resistance encourages Austria to fight against France in the battle of Austerlitz, which they failed. This loss angered Austria and they wanted revenge against France, but once again, was defeated and resulted in peace afterward

    Russia and France started out as allies wanting to split land and power if they helped each other take over Europe. However that all went down hill when Tsar Alexander I of Russia became unhappy with economic problems and called war with France. Napoleon gathers a huge army called the "Grand Army", the Russians try to flee burning villages so the Grand Army would die of starvation and the cold. The Grand Army was later forced to go back or else suffer of these problems.

    Russia made an alliance with Britian, Austria, and Prussia defeated France which ran for three days. This later resulted in the overthrow of Napoleon from France.

    After Napolean's defeat in the battle of Leipzig he was force to step down from power. The victors forced Napolean into exile on Elba (Island in Mediteraean) and put King Louis XVIII into power instead.

    After the victors forced Napolean into exile on Elba (Island in Mediteraean) and put King Louis XVIII into power. Napoleon later escaped the island and returned to France. However, King Louis XVIII did not do well as king, as result, many people wanted Napolean back in power.

    Napoleon's Exile to St. Helena
    After the Battle of Leipzig in October 1813, to a small island in the South Atlantic where because he had no support from his military and would not later return, he had also stepped down from his throne on April 1814. He later diied on 1821 but his legacy remained throughout world wide.

    Both oposing armies met face to face in the town of Waterloo in Belgium. British forces from the crontrol of Duke Wellington including the Prussian army commanded by General Blucher defeated France very quickly. Napolean was forced to flee into exile on St. Helena.
