    This was both a success and failure because the military lost against outside forces. This was a success because Rome became the most powerful state in the world. Austria’s loss at Austerlitz and if Napoleon couldn’t get his imperial title had a big impact on the Holy Roman Empire.

    Add this battle Napoleon is forced to give up the west of the Rhine River. He is forced to abdicate and forced to exile on the island of Elba. The allied armies threaten Napoleons’ line of communications through Leipzig, he was forced to concentrate his force.
