The French Revolution had treated the Catholic Church in France very badly. By signing the Concordat, the French government and the Church agreed to a reuniting. Napoleon could now forge ahead in his system without opposition from the Church. This was good and bad. Bad because it was a bump and the road and they had to stop to make a treaty but good because now there’s no complications.

In August 1802, Napoleon made himself First Consul for Life. As First Consul, Napoleon was clearly the highest power in the land, and a fairly absolute ruler. He got to use his power.

In August 1802, Napoleon declared himself “First Consul for Life”. A new constitution of his own laws a succession to rule for his son (he did not have any children, yet) and he had taken the major steps in creating a new government in his own image. This was good because he got to make his own laws that he liked.

The Napoleonic Code, officially the Civil Code of the French. It made the power of men over their families stronger, took away any individual rights for women, and reduced the rights of legal children. It’s green because Napoleon got make how own laws to benefit him and the French men.

On May 18, 1804, Napoleon declared himself emperor, and made Josephine his Empress. His coronation ceremony took place on December 2, 1804, in the Cathedral of Notre-Dame in Paris. Napoleon took his crown from the Pope and placed it on his own head. Napoleon then crowned his wife, Empress of France. This was good for Napoleon because, he wanted to show his power.

At sea, Lord Nelson and the Royal Navy consistently stop Napoleon Bonaparte. Victory at the Battle of Trafalgar ensured that Napoleon would never invade Britain. This is red because this was an ultimate defeat for Napoleon.

The Holy Roman Empire had survived over a thousand years when it was finally destroyed by Napoleon and the French in 1806. To increase his control over the German states and destroy the Holy Roman Empire, Napoleon set up the Confederation of the Rhine. This was good because Napoleon abolished the Empire.

Continental System, in the Napoleonic wars, the barricade designed by Napoleon to stop Great Britain through the destruction of British commerce. This proclaimed a blockade: French allies were not to trade with the British. This was good and bad because they had stuff to help defend themselves but British had “Orders in Council” that help try to defeat Napoleon. This stopped trade as well to help them.

Napoleon invaded Spain. By this began the Peninsular War, an important phase of the Napoleonic Wars. French forces captured Pamplona and Barcelona, and forced King Charles IV of Spain to abdicate. This means Napoleon’s brother, Joseph, was proclaimed the new king of Spain. This was good and bad because Napoleon wasn’t the real king anymore but he could talk through his brother but eventually that stops too.

This halted Napoleons March across Europe. Napoleon Bonaparte was forced to admit that he had failed to defeat Russia and would have to abandon Moscow. Had to admit defeat.

In this battle, also known as the Battle of Nations, Napoleon's army of raw soldiers was defeated by a four-nation alliance. To then, no one singular battle had involved so many soldiers. This was bad because the army was defeated.

Napoleon was forced to abdicate in April 1814 after his unsuccessful invasion of Russia resulted in a wide European alliance against him. In the Treaty of Fontainebleau, Napoleon abdicated the throne and renounced his claim to any future throne in France. This is bad because he signed away his allowance to any throne and he can’t be in charge.

The Hundred Days, which saw Napoleon's escape from Elba, his raising of a new army, and his last campaign to destroy Europe. Napoleon’s ‘Hundred Days’ would be brought to an end. This forced his abdication and ensured the repair of Louis to the French throne in July. Louis took his thrown.

In this battle, Napoleon was finally defeated by the British, under Wellington, and the Prussians. He lost his rule of emperor. The loss was sorta due to a crucial mistake of Napoleon's. Napoleon had a chance to attack and did not. This was bad because, Napoleon was defeated by the British.
