One of my first memories of technology was watching the news on a black and white t.v. of the assassination of President Kennedy. I was very young at the time and yet the emotion of this event is powerfully imprinted upon me. Seeing the images of the event over and over again on the television will always stay with me.

Ohhhh....what excitement and anticipation there was in the Squires home for the yearly viewing of the "Wizard of Oz"! Our first color t.v. made the movie come to life!

There is nothing like a song to take you back to your younger years. I think I must have listened to Gilbert O'Sullivan's album maybe 1000 times (a day)! My poor parents! Those big black shiny records went round and round, playing all our favorites!

For a wedding gift our friends gave us the Fleetwood Mac 8 Track recording. We plugged that huge cartridge into our Toyota Celica and drove off into a new life adventure!

I first played the game Pong on a t.v. at my brother in laws house. He was the first person I knew to own his own gaming device! The way all the boys could spend hours on a black and white screen hitting a tiny ball back and forth should have been a warning sign for future gaming trouble!

New technology always has a learning curve. For those of us who can remember black and white t.v. it is often challenging to keep up with technology. Sometimes I have felt like it was not worth the effort to learn how to use a computer, a smart phone, google drive...but it is ALWAYS worth the work in the end!

Nothing like a cordless phone...when you are a young mother and need support from friends. For years I would deal with the long cords, as I did my dishes and talked philosphy, motherhood and life with my friends. I could only stretch the cord so far though. When the dishes were done...I was done talking! The cordless phone was a miracle to me!

The wonderful world of photography changed with the digital camera! Now I could take as many photos as I wanted, discard the bad ones, keep the good and it didn't cost me a penny! Poor children who were born before the invention of the digital camera...they hardly have any photos! Or maybe poor childrenwho have to smile for a photo every time they turn around!

How great is it to be able to take your life with you anywhere? I have loved my personal journal, my world connection and my answer any question tool! I love technology! (Sometimes)

It took some convincing but I finally got my first smart phone. Once again, the learning curve stretched me but once I got the hang of it....there is no going back!
