Windows 95 was the operating system that I grew up on. I felt so comfortable navigating it and I thought it was miraculous. I had a hard time when my parents decided to upgrade, but now with almost every upgrade, I enjoy it more than the previous one. It just takes some getting used to.

I could watch movies on the computer! This made it so there was one more 'tv' for my siblings to fight over!
-
I got my first Discman and could finally listen to my own music in the car instead of the radio that my mom liked!

I wrote my first large research paper in 7th grade. I'm so glad I had google to help me find some resources!
-
I was able to send pictures to my brother who was halfway across the world using JPEG, which was invented in 1992.
-
I used YouTube to share and watch dance videos. I could watch famous clips to my students to learn about dance history. I could also learn a dance that someone else created without being in the same room.
-
I was now able to practice dance without bothering other people because I was able to listen to my ipod with headphones while I was dancing.

Once I got a flip phone, I was the cool kid on the block. I was finally socially accepted (in my mind). :)
-
When my family finally got wifi, I never had to worry about getting in trouble for tying up the phone by using the internet (or forgetting to plug the phone back in when I was done).

I have the ability to keep in contact with friends who live in different countries for free! This is important to me because I have lived in both Finland and Korea.
