Five-antis Campaign
This campaign was designed to stop and destroy all of the capitalist left in China. While there were five rules to be inforced many of the people targeted where scared into doing so by all of the propaganda in China to get them to be convicted of crimes they did not do -
100 Flowers Campaign
Citizens were encouraged to speak openly about the communist governemnt and piont out its flaws withput being critizied for their actions. -
Anti-Rightist Campaign
Mao now attacks and murders those that spoke critical ofthe government so that he can retain control. He also begins limiting right to speech and forces the population to love him. -

Great Leap Forward
The Great Leap Forward was the second Five year plan Mao released. It forced the people to work in groups called communes to help raise idustrial and agricultrual growth. The plan back fired a year in when the people were over worked and the products were poor due to the government wanting it as fast as possible. -
Split with the Soviet Union
China formally denonced the Soviet Union in this year though the relasionship had been weaking since 1951 and only got worse after this date. -

Cultural Revolution
The Cultural Revolution was Mao's attempt to regain power over the communist government, which he held less power in due to the failer of the Great Leap Forward. It was a blood power grab in China and resulted in a callaspe of econamy. It was fought by the childern of China.
