I would take these religion classes every wednesday for I think 6 months in order to make my communion. These classes were some of the most boring things I had to sit through, but the people in there made it fun. I fell asleep in one of the classes and this boy who sat behind me kicked my chair for me to wake up because our teacher was watching me. I remember being so embarrassed because I had hit my head on the desk when he kicked my chair. My whole class laughed at me but I also found it funny -
In 2nd grade I did ballet. I was not good at it, but I liked to believe that I was. We had a full routine done for this recital and I practiced it for weeks. I was so scared to perform in front of all the parents and siblings that when I got on stage, I had fully forgotten the routine. I had messed up the whole routine but so did two other girls in my class so I was thankful for that. -
My uncle planned a trip for me, my siblings and all my cousins to go white water rafting together. My sister Hanora was never the athletic one so when trying to turn in really rough water she dropped her paddle and went in the water to try to get it. She ended up slipping in the shallow water and landed on her back straight on top of a big rock. My other sister Britney was just laughing at her while me and my cousin Maria tried to help. My other cousins were also spraying us with water guns. -
For this dance me and my two best friends at the time made a deal that we were going to dance together, no boys. But when I got asked by this boy who I had known since kindergarten, I may or may not have gone back on the deal I made with my girl friends. At this dance we took pictures in the photo booth, and I did end up hanging out with two best friends more than the guy who was my "date." But we all sat down together after dancing to the "Cotton Eye Joe" and pretended to be drunk on soda -
The movie "Dolphin Tale" was always one of my favorite movies. It was about a dolphin who lost her tail by being caught in a fishing net and these aquarium workers helped create a prosthetic tail for her. Me and my family visited this aquarium where the actual dolphin, Winter, was staying and we got to see her in real life. I was so happy and I even bought a stuffed animal of the dolphin when we were there. -
I was never close with my sister Britney but when she left to study abroad I felt like a part of me was missing. Britney is the type to always crack jokes and she was always down to watch new shows or movies. So when she left it seemed like all the fun at home had left with her. Even though me and her would always bicker I looked up to how much she did not let things affect her and when she left, my mentor was gone with her. I just missed her a lot. -
This was the day where I really realized that my time in Manhattan had been over. I had to leave my graduation early for a wedding and since a lot of my friends went to sleepaway camp this was my final goodbye before I moved. I remember my friend Lucia and I trying not to cry so our mascara wouldn't run. I remember being so upset that I was leaving but also being so relieved to have a new start at a new school. This was the time I realized I was not so dependent on my friends as I had thought. -
When I was 14 I moved to brewster and I was extremely nervous for my first day because not only was it my first time in a new school, but it was also my first time in high school. On this day I met someone in my math class and they thought I was going to be mean since I had moved from the city. I did not know what to do or what to say, I felt bad that I looked like a mean person. I also can remember being terrified to enter the cafeteria because I had no idea where to sit. -
Growing up with a cousin the same age as me always was fun. I would spend every birthday with him. But for this birthday it consisted of family games. We played family feud and Aidan was Steve Harvey for the first game. Both my mom and my aunt are not the brightest so we put them on opposite teams and it was just such a funny time. My cousins Gary and Joey went head-to-head and got really competitive, Joey pulled Gary across the table from fighting over the buzzer. (We used a paper towel roll) -
For my birthday I had a HUGE party. My mom was so mad at me for how many people I let in my house, but I did not care I just wanted to have fun. I set up my volleyball net and everyone went to my pool. I remember blasting music and playing volleyball really competitively with my friends, I also remember playing categories in the pool and just laughing. At night we also all went back in my pool for night swimming which I enjoyed a lot. -
Who would have thought that my mother would let me go on a vacation with my boyfriend. I was gone for 5 days and we went to the pool almost everyday and we also went to the beach. My boyfriend's stepdad plays squash so we went to a squash club and he taught us all how to play. I was not very good but I had fun trying something new and getting to be competitive at it -
I wanted to take my road test for the longest time and when I did I was so nervous. I thought I was going to fail miserably. The tester that I had was this older blonde woman and I could not tell by her reactions whether or not I was going to pass. She sort of was telling me to do and what not to do. After my test I went over to my boyfriend's house and my mom called me with my results. I had passed! -
The day finally came. I got my braces off! I left school at 11:30 and went to my orthodontist to get them taken off. My orthodontist was drilling the glue off my teeth and it felt like he was drilling off my teeth. But once that was done, I looked in the mirror and I did not even look like myself. I was so happy with how my teeth looked and I could not help but smile.
