A very memorable event to begin my Senior year.

My first day home and already at school!!

At the beginning of my senior year I heard that all you do in Mr. Ellis's class was write essay after essay and i could remember telling myself that i am going to die. Now at the end of the year I found out that I can write a 1500 word essay like nothing now. I am able to pick my arguments and back them up like i have been doing it all my life. My vocabulary still might not be the best but it is getting better everyday.

Last year in Ellis's class i could not give my speach the first time I tried. I could not talk in front of a group of people without freaking out. Now this year while giving my speech on the Patriot Act I was able to give the speech comfertably and answer the questions given to me. I feel that this was the most valuable unit to me since I had always had a problem with speeking till then. Also it helped me learn about a topic I have always been greatly interested in.

Before this year my reading skills were mediocre at best. Now I am able to read and have the ability to pick out the logos, pathos, ethos, the thesis statement, and much more. My reading skills have greatly improved and without this class my skills would have never gotten better.

The most memorable and challanging event that occured this year was after missing Mrs. Ellis basically everybody's 2nd mom here at JFK for several months we took a stroll to the district and made the district finally look at a serious problem.

I still do not deal with criticism that great; I still tend to think that my opinion is right and that yours is wrong when it comes to certain controversial topics.

My big success this year was being in the Army for 1 year. The army has helped me greatly and I am very proud of being a part of the army.

My critical thinking skills have grown tremendously, after taking this class I am now able to argue any opinion I may have. I can think of the position i am taking and be able to argue it in a full length essay.

my writing has gone from "If everybody is blah then we will have a blah society" to "If people start to become dull, then our society will become very depressing."

Another huge success for me this year was to stay in a committed relationship for 2 years and still counting with Avery. She has put up with a lot for me and I could not have made it through the year without her help.

My one majr goal this year is to graduate on time and on June 2nd we will all be graduating!!!!

In the fall i will be attending California State University Stanislaus to obtain a degree in Computer Science.
