Jan 1, 1895 Britain Reconquers Sudan. Nov 5, 1899 Egypt and Britain decide to have a joint government of Sudan. Jan 1, 1930 Britain and Egypt decide to split Sudan into North and South Sudan. Jan 1, 1946 Britain and Khartoum reunite north Sudan with south Sudan. Period: Jan 1, 1955 to Jan 1, 1972 The first Sudanese Civil War rages. Jan 1, 1956 Independedence is given to Sudan. Period: May 1, 1983 to Jan 9, 2005 The Second Sudanese Civil war rages. Jan 9, 2011 Sudanese vote for South Sudan to seperate from Sudan. Jul 14, 2011 South Sudan becomes a recognized country by the United Nations.
