Jan 1, 1946 Britain and Khartoum reunite north Sudan with south Sudan. Period: Jan 1, 1955 to Jan 1, 1972 The first Sudanese Civil War rages. Jan 1, 1956 Independedence is given to Sudan. Period: May 1, 1983 to Jan 9, 2005 The Second Sudanese Civil war rages. Jan 9, 2011 Sudanese vote for South Sudan to seperate from Sudan. Jul 14, 2011 South Sudan becomes a recognized country by the United Nations.
