South Africa was created
Zulu cheif, Shaka had used strong warriors and militray organization to create a large state whivh would be called South Africa. -
The Great Trek in the 1830s
The Great Trek was a time in which Boers, or farmers, had migrated into the lands of South Africa. When they arrived, there was great tension between the farmes and the Zulu people. Before long, the Boers and the Zulu people had begun to fight fiercely. -
Boer War
The Boer War was ignited by the discovery of gold and diamonds in South Africa. Once countries were knowledgable of the gold, they rushed and to take upon their own fortunes. The Boers had tried to defend themselves and their territory from the other countries such as Great Britain. Eventually, Britain won the war and controlled the state of South Africa. -
South Africa Becomes Self- Governing
After the Second Boer War, with the victory in favor of the British, the Boers joined the Union of South Africa. Great Britain now had control over South Africa and made them a self governing Union.
