    The war of 1812 between Europe and America is waged on June 18, 1812. There were numerous causes of the war for example because of the trade restrictions brought with the British war with France, the impressment of American merchant sailors into the Royal Navy, British support of Indian tribes against American expansion, outrage over insults to national honor after humiliations on the high seas and possible American interest in annexing British North American territory (Canada).

  • The Battle of Lake Erie

    The Battle of Lake Erie
    September 10, 1813, The Battle of Lake Erie- When the first announcement of war broke out, Lake Erie was immediately seized by Britain. Lake Erie would later on be a very important ground for further battles in the war. The Americans didn't have any counter attack to Britain’s largely advanced naval fleet. During this battle many lives were lost including 68 killed, 189 wounded from both sides. The lake was a useful tactic place for the British because one of the many fronts of battle during WWI

    September 12-15, 1814, The Battle of Baltimore
    The Battle of Baltimore was fought on/off land and sea. The Baltimore Port proved useful to the Americans in launching their attacks and receiving support and aid quicker. The resistance of Baltimore’s forces at Fort McHenry to the British bombs proved useful to them in gaining a foothold in the war, but because Americans’ were so enthralled in keeping the fort safe they did not see the incoming surprise attack form the British. The capture of Fort McHenry guaranteed Britain's success to the war

    December 14, 1814, The Treaty of Ghent- The war was called to an end in the Flemish city of Ghent, in 1814, over a peace treaty called the Treaty of Ghent. The treaty declared both sides to status quo ante bellum, meaning the state quo before the war. After the treaty was signed since telephones were not yet invented back than, it took time for the news of the war being over to spread to all. It was ratified on unanimously by the U.S. Senate on February 8, 1815.

    January 8, 1815, The Battle of New Orleans- The Battle of New Orleans was fought from December 23, 1814 through January 8, 1815. This battle was the last and biggest amongst all the battles in the War of 1812. Along with many important fronts that Britain tried to secure during the war, New Orleans was one of them. New Orleans was a strategic tool to end the war because it was closer inland to the U.S. so taking hold of it would further strengthen the British’s rule in the war.

Since America was now part of the British Empire the one nation combined their ideas for the arms race thus allowing Britain to be the first nation to develop the nuclear bomb. Most nations began to stock up on nuclear weapons and armies. Since America and Britain was combined their forces were stronger than nation. Since they had this upperhand they won the war.

    The Golden Age’s Fall was caused by the stock market crash of 1965 and bank failures. After the Golden Age’s fall, Americans were significantly affected by it. Since the World Wars, American army was significantly weakened and when the Golden Age came around Americans were more interested in rejoicing in the prosperous time after the war rather than recruiting the army again. The fall of the Golden Age also knocked most citizens off their feet rendering most homeless and in debt.
