    Birth of Baby Sanne
On April 4th 1995, I was born in Rekken, The Netherlands. I entered the world into the loving arms of my parents and sister. Being born into a hard working, athletic and loving farm family has played a huge role in shaping who I am today.
  • Emigration

    Emigration
Emigrating to Canada would have to be the biggest change I have ever made to date! This event has effected many aspects of my life. I will be forever grateful for the cultural diversity I have experienced.
  • 4-H

    4-H
When I was nine years old, I began 4-H. Through 4-H I gained many skills; communication, organization, and collaboration skills. 4-H was the first indicator that teaching was the profession for me.

    Team Sports
In grade six I began playing school sports. I had been part of a team before but it was in grade six that my leadership role began to flourish.

When I was in grade 10 I spent a semester doing work experience in a grade two classroom. It was in this semester that my knowledge and passion for teaching began to grow.
  • KPED Practicum

    KPED Practicum
In my second year of college I took a KPED class. This class taught me how to teach phys-ed, and how to manage a class in a gymnasium. For this class I had a practicum, in a group of 4 I taught phys-ed to 60 grade 4 students. The experience was phenomenal.

    Volunteering
In my second year of college I volunteered at West Park Elementary, in grades 3 and 5. I spent each Friday morning helping out and learning more about the teaching profession.

    Five Week Practicum

  • Judging Public Speaking

    Judging Public Speaking
After being out of 4-H for a few years I was asked to come back to judge public speaking. I was honored to do so as literacy and public speaking are very important to me. I was also grateful for the opportunity to give back to a program that gave me so much!
  • Extended Practicum

    Extended Practicum
Rather than doing just a 9 week practicum, I decided to do an extended practicum. For my practicum I have been placed in a grade 8 Science and Math class, at Penhold Crossing school. This extended practicum has definitely prepared me for the nine weeks to come.
