Sabrina's Developmental Timeline

  • Infancy: Physical Development

My aunt told me that my cousin and I started walking at an early age. I was about 9 months old when I started walking.
  • Infancy: Cognitive Development

My Granny told me a story about how I would only take professional pictures for certain people. She said they were mostly males. If it was a certain type of person I would cry and take ugly pictures. I feel like I was trying to understand the world through certain types of people. Basically trying to make sense of everything going through the stages of Piaget theory.
  • Infancy: Emotional Development

When I was a baby my Mom told me I never wanted to go to anyone other than family. My temperament as a baby was slow to warm up. If I didn't know you I would not engage with you.
  • Infancy: Emotional Development

In my opinion, I had a insecurely attachment to my mom. I never wanted her to leave me and my family told me I cried a lot when I was younger. Especially if my Mom moved away out of my sight I would cry until someone could soothe and calm me down.

  • Infancy: Cognitive Development

As a baby I learned that a car says vroom and a train says choo choo then I later accommodated that they are both types of transportation.
  • Early Childhood: Cognitive Development

When I was a young child I loved to play outside for hours. My favorite things to do were ride my bike and catch bugs inside my crayon box. I also loved to play hide and seek with my cousin who was 2 years older than me, but I didn't really understand how to play. So I would always give myself away instead of waiting for my cousin to stop counting. This does fit the research done on children.
  • Early Childhood: Cognitive Development

I remember doing journals in Kindergarten and my teacher would ask me what I drew on the pages and she would write in words what I drew. She was helping me understand how to communicate what I was thinking when I was drawing the pictures.
  • Early Childhood: Emotional Development

My family would describe me as a mean little child but at school I was a total different child. I was always known as the quiet, sweet, nice girl. My teachers hardly ever heard me speak unless I had to ask them something. I feel like my temperament was the same as when I was an infant.
  • Early Childhood: Cognitive Development

At this point in time I was able to think about what I would do before I did it. So if I knew I needed to study at 3:30 then I would remember to do so. I would have been in the preoperational stage of Piaget's theory.
  • Puberty: Physical Development

I feel like I entered puberty at an early age compared to my peers. Simply because I always had this feeling that I looked different than everyone else around me. I felt like I had body features that no one else did. Having puberty early did affect me because I no longer wanted to play sports or do anything active because of how much my body changed.
  • Middle/ Late Childhood: Physical Development

I had about 30 minutes of exercise daily during this time frame especially since I was Middle School. We always had 30-45 minutes in P.E. and I was played outside until I got older like 6 or 7th grade for instance.
  • Middle/ Late Childhood: Cognitive Development

When I was younger I use help separate the laundry into different categories like whites, lights, dark colored, and towels. My family always washed the towels by themselves so no one's clothes got messed up and linty. I would have been in Concrete Operational Stage of Piaget's theory.
  • Adolescense: Emotional Development

Sternberg would describe my most important relationship as something like puppy love or infatuation. As we grow together we develop a physical intimacy.
  • Adolescence: Physical Development

During this time frame I had 45 minutes to an hour of P.E. We also could choose different electives and I chose Aerobics one year. I had a lot of fun in the class. We did a exercise/ ribbon dance for the whole school at the end of the semester and I was super nervous. In my adolescent years I was very shy, quiet, and nervous all the time. Presentations in front of groups always made shake and sweat uncontrollably but not in a pouring sweat type of way.
  • Adolescence: Cognitive Development

I use to think when I walked down the hallways of any building everyone was looking at me. So eventually I started trying to be the last person to get up because I never wanted to be the center of attention. My fear was I would fall on my face in front of everyone and even now that I'm older I have trouble walking through the stands at basketball and football games. I would have been in Piaget's Formal Operational stage.
  • Adolescense: Cognitive Development

When I was in high school I was taking this math class and on one of the test I made a 100 out of 100. I was so happy for myself and I felt very smart that day. I've always had a problem with test so on that day I was proud that I mastered the subject matter.
  • Graduated High School

  • Early Adulthood: Emotional Development

My aunt is like my best friend and I've always felt like she is a second mom to me. She treats me as one of her own anyways. I would describe the attachment as a healthy family oriented relationship. Honestly, I felt as though we had a secure attachment as I got older.
  • Adulthood: Physical Development

Now that I am an adult I don't get as much exercise as I should since I have two jobs and I go to college as a full time student. My current level of exercise is at least 30 minutes 2 days out of a week span. I wish I could do more than that but my time is restricted. When I go to the gym I do 8 laps alternating running and walking 2 laps. Then I finish with stretches and ab workouts all in a 30 minute time frame.
