SA: Personality Timeline

  • Becoming a narrator

Our second grade class was tasked with a play, and somehow, I became the narrator. I held the script and read the way a true storyteller would. This open up the relm of entertainment for me, I wanted to become an actress which would require memorizing lines, which helped me improve my memory. I also loved singing and dancing and overall performing in front of a crowd.
  • Obama's Presidency and Ali

    Obama's Presidency and Ali
In October, my 8-years-younger brother Ali was born.
In November, the 1st African American president was elected. My younger brother's birth gave me a small amount of responsibility and took away my mother's attention from me.
I remember my mother holding my one month old brother while watching the elections on T.V. and that made me realize just how open and different the world is in comparison to the Middle East.
  • Moving to Saudi

My family and I had to move back to Saudi Arabia after spending 3 years in Bahrain. I became more "annoying", wishing I had friends to talk to, while my parents were too busy, my older brother was "too cool" to hang out with me. I resorted to taking care of my younger sibling and being alone most of the time.
  • My new routine

That year was the first where I had to spent the summer in one country and have my parents in another. That was also the time where I got a Nintendo 3DS, the start of my interest in video games. This taught me to keep track of my belongings and to not spread myself out to far. The constant moving from house to house, parent less, with a useless older brother, encouraged me to keep to myself rather than have to explain whats going on over and over again. It helped me realize my introversion .
  • Ruby's Birth

    Ruby's Birth
On this day, I was no longer considered the only daughter in the family, and I was old enough to take care of my younger sister the way a mother would. I became a responsible teenager. Having that young of a sibling at that age open my eyes to the world, helping me see things in other perspectives.
  • Learning at Al - Sahafa International School

Learning at Al - Sahafa International School
On this day, my parents signed me into a new school following a costly, no good school that only hurt me. The new school wasn't all that better. I became more independent, found new interests, and became lonelier than I ever have been. My parents no longer needed to support me and turned to help my younger siblings completely. This is the time I realized what depression really is and that I might have it, despite my parents thinking I'm making it up for attention.
  • Book reading mania begins

    Book reading mania begins
The day a friend recommended I read the Percy Jackson series. From there, I began reading for more than just a grade. The readings I've done helped me expand my mind beyond our physical world. I started caring more and more about the events of the world in an attempt to incorperate it into fiction
