    My name is Vadim Sokow. My family is in the lower class citzen group im Russia. I was born in the middle of a family crises. I have 2 older sisters named, Sakia and Nika. Sakia is 2 years older than Nika, and Nika is 3 years older than me. My mom's name is Natasha and my dad's name is Vlad. My family recently went broke and can't afford to buy alot of food and had to sell their house.

    My family could barely afford the ticket to America. We couldn't buy alot of food for the trip too. We had to sell most of our stuff. My sisters had to share a doll that my parents bought for them. My parents brought only 2 sets of clothes for each of our family members. My whole family got 50 dollars that they brought with them.

    We started to board the boat that will take us to the new land. We were in the steerage.

    My time on the boat was horrible. I got sea sick alot, the food was horrible and the experience was the worst. I was cold at night when it was time to return to bed. After a whole month, I saw the mainland.

    Now i'm old enough that my parents allow me to go to work. My sisters went to work at a workshop to make pillows. I decided to work at the same place with them. My job was to pluck the chickens and dump the clean feathers into a bin. Sounds easy, right? No, because I have to work for long hours in a room with a ton of people that are cramped together in a single room.

    One day at the workshop, I had this feeling in me that felt like no other. Scince I spent most of my life with my family, i wasn't a social person. I didn't have any friends, but there was this girl i was fond of. Her name was Erin. She has brown hair, 5 feet 3 inches (one inch taller than me), brown eyes, and freckles on her cheeks. After work hours, I came home to my parents and asked what this feeling is. They said it was called "love."

    Alot has happened in the time i spent in America. The most important thing was I found love and got married. My family was very successful in this country.
