    Coming to America
I first arrived in America off the Carpathia on April 18, 1912 in New York. I transferred boats to go up to Ellis Island so I could go throgh the immigration process, but afterwards ended up back down at New York. I briefly saw my ex-fiance that I tried to escape from after the Titanic sunk, but I managed to run away and learned that he was klilled a few days later. For lack of money, I sell the silver promise ring he gave me but sadly didn't ge the price I would've liked for need of money.

    Getting a Job
On April 21, 1912,I got a job in Herman's Sewing Factory. The industrilization of New York opened up many new factory jobs. It wasn't exactly my dream job, but I could no longer live off what little I had from selling the silver ring. I rented a small, inexpensive room with the money from the ring, but the money leftover was so little that I started sewing for a living. Now that I have a bit of money, I can buy extra clothes, soap, and other things i need while still saving for the west.

    immigration act of 1907
My good friend from Germany named Nicole Klein tried to come over through Ellis Island on her 23rd birthday- May 26, 1913- but unfortunately did not get in because of the immigration act created in 1907. This act excluded all physically disabled persons, and Nicole was born with paralyzedl legs. This act caused Nicole to be unable to cross over into America, making both of us Nicole was forced back to Germany where she has had smaller job oppritinities and a poor life.
  • Moving West

    Moving West
On March 30, 1914, I had enough money to finally start my journey west.I bought a horse- Torpedo, a smaller black and brown palmino with a long caramel mane- and along wiht Calum Turner, my fellow Titanic survivor and close friend, joined other settlers and started our long journey west.

    Arriving in The West
I finally arrived in the west! On August 31, Calum and I finally ended our journey from New York to Missouri. Once there, I used almost all of my leftover money to buy a small cabin on a small piece of land for Torpedo to roam. Another humungous effect of coming to the west besides having my very own house-I met Jack Caraway. He's a lovely Christiam missionary who grew up in the part of New York I just came from. He came out west to spread the word of God. We pretty much fell in love instantly!

    The story and the Ring
Today was the day I finally told Jack everything- the reason why Calum and I are so close, the Titanic's sinking, selling the ring, escaping my fiance', everything.I felt bad that I had been hiding my past from him.Jack learned how Calum and I didn't get onto a lifeboat, but found a big plank of wood floating that we both laid on top on,keeping each other warm untill a lifeboat came to rescue us-we were barely alive.Once we were rescued, we became nearly inseperable because of what we went through.

    The ring is here?
Yesterday I told Jack everything about my past on the Titanic. He rushed off hurredly at the end-I was worrried until this morning. He came back with an object wrapped in cloth and told me that his dad had bought this two years ago in New York and sent it to Jack in case he ever met a "special someone". As he unwrapped the cloth,I shrieked. My ring! Mr. Caraway had bought it from me and given it to Jack! Jack placed it on my finger as a promise ring from him, and I couldn't have been more happy!
