    The Age of faith was in between the years 900 - 1100. This happend because the church restructured how it was organized with the pope as its head. Church law was developed and taxes were collected called Thithes. A majority of this money went to help the sick and poor. Also there was a new style in architecture which was known as Gothic. These cathedrals thrust upward as though it were reaching toward heaven. Soon Gothic cathedrals were built in many towns in France.

    Martin Luther made a public stance against Johann Tetzel. Tetzel was raraising money to rebuild St. Peters cathedral in Rome but he was selling indugences. These relaesed a sinnner from proforming a penalty. although Ttetzel gave the wrong immpresson that indugences could buy your way into heaven. Luther imidiatley wrote the 95 theses, attacking the pardon merchants. His actions then began a refermation

    Henry VIII broke englands Roman Catholic church personal reasons, but not religious reasons. He was the king of England in 1509 but in 1521 Henry responded very naegativly to Luthers ideas. this gave Henry the name of "Defender of faith".Then Henry had a wife (Catherine) and a dughter. Although Henry wanted a son. When Ctherine was 42 yrs old he knew would have no more children so he wanted to devorce her. The church didnt let him so he turned the Catholic church protestant.

    John Calvin, a french follower of Luther, prooted unique ideas between the relationship between people and god. in 1531 a bitter war between swiss protestants and catholics broke out. then Calvin started to clarify his religios beliefs. Calvin grew up to have much as influence in the spread of protestantism as Luther did. Calvin published 'Institutes if Christian Religion" which expressed god, human nature and slavation. He mentioned in the book that humans cannot earn salvation like Luther said

    The reformation set stage for the modern world and ended chridtisn unity. Protestant churches flourished and new dominations developed. Both Catholics and Protestants developed education in promoting beliefes. Not to mention the Roman Catholic church itself became more unified. Also this all led to the development of nation states
