    South wants a war with Britain and Spain to gain land in the west but the North does not want war.

    Nat Turner was an abolitionist who wanted to help slaves.

    This is a big deal because its new land for farms and slaves.

  • Creation of Free Soil Party 1848

    The Free soil party was a new party thats goal was to keep the south from making the western states slave states.

    Americans win California against the Mexicans.
