    Occured because the people in Massachusetts were fed up with paying taxes. they dressed up like Native Americans and dumped an abundance of tea into the Boston Harbor.

    Met in Philadelphia's Carpenters Hall. Actions such as the decision on what to do in response to the Intolerable Acts were taken.
  • Declaration of Independence Written.

    Writtwn to declare the colonies independence from England (British).
  • Battle of Yorktown.

    this battle was held in Virginia and the leading general was General Napoleon.
  • Bill of Rights Written.

    Also known as the first 10 Amendments.
  • Touissant L'Ouverture Leads Rebellion.

  • National Assembly Established.

    When the members of the Third-Estate declared themselves the National Assembly. (Established because of taxation issues)
  • The Storming of Bastille.

    This large prison/fortress was destroyed to symbolize that the King was no longer in power.
  • King Louis XVI Beheaded

    Convicted of conspiracy with foreign powers and sentenced to death.
  • Haiti Declares Independence

    Haiti's original name was "Ayiti, Quisqueya, Bohio." The name was from the original people who lived there. Chris Columbus named it "Hispaniola" meaning "Little Spain," The name changed to "Haiti" meaning mountainous land. The name was given by French settlers.
  • Napoleon Declares Himself Emperor.

    Held at the Notre Dame Cathedral.
  • Battle of Waterloo.

    This was General Napoleon's last and unsuccessful battle. (Part of the Napoleonic Wars)
