American Revolution
The american revolution wa swhen the american colonies revolted against their british rulers and established their own form of governtment. This shows change because the americans became indeopendant and are a democracy/republic. -
French Revolution
The french revolution took place from 1789 to the late 1790's. It was influenced by enlightenment ideas and the poeple wanted to end the monarchy due to kings that were not doing their job well and taxing the poor. in the end the revolutionwas sucessful and the monarchy was ended with a republic being established in its place. this shows change because a new government is established. But not for long...... -
Haitain Revolt
The haitain revolt started in 1791 and ended in 1804 that took place in saint domingue. It was a sucessful revolt(by slaves) to abolish slavery and end the colonies rule over them. This shows change because the slaves became free and the colonies lost control. -
White Lotus Rebelion
this rebellion was during the Qing dynasty and started as a tax rebellion. It was finally crushed by the Qing military but it showed change because the Qing dynasties power ws lessening and others started to rebel. -
Latin American Revoluiton
this revolution was started by creole elites who feared lower classes taking control. it was inspired by Napoleon and Enlightenment. This shows change because the elites now wanted control to rule the peasents and stop them from taking control. -
Second French Revolution
The monarchy problem in france did not solve itself completely after the first revolution so a second one took place which endended monarchy once and for all. This shows both change and continuity. The french revolted again to end the monarchy but this time it ened for good! -
Taiping Rebellion
This was a revolt by the people of China against the ruling Manchu Dynasty because of their failure to deal effectively with the opium problem and the interference of foreigners. It lasted from 1850 to 1864. this shows change because the people revolted and mostly ended the problem with opium trade. -
Sepoy Rebellion
British government now assumes control of India. The causes of Sepoy Rebellion were animal fat greased bullet casings were against religion; forced to travel to places outside caste restrictions; sati abolished and divorce allowed. This shows change because the indian people foght the british to end unjust laws dealing with their religion. -
Indian Revolt
this was a revolt of indian soldiers against british officers. they were required to use greased cartridges they suspected were being used to pollute them and cause them to convert to Christianity. This shows change because the indian soldiers ended the british trying to convert them. -
Boxer Rebellion
A rebellion in Beijing, China started by a secret society of Chinese who opposed the "foreign devils". The rebellion was ended by British troops. this shows continuity because it ended and no change happened it was shut down.
