    Black Death

    Black Death
    The Black Death was one of the deadliest diseases of all time. This occurred during the 14th and 15th centuries. This disease effected about 45 percent of Europe. This black death basically killed you no matter what. If you didn't have the money for a doctor, it was an automatic death. This disease originated from rats traveling on boats in close quarters. During this time, people weren't sanatary and living or working conditions were bad. This would help the disease spread even quicker.

    Martin Luther posts Ninety-Five Theses

    Martin Luther posts Ninety-Five Theses
    Martin Luther posted his ideas on the Ninety-Five Theses. In the Holy Roman Empire, you were almost automatically a Roman Catholic. Martin Luther rejected those ideas and posted his Ninety-Five theses. His main reason was he didn't believe in indulgences, remissions of temporal punishment due for sins which have already been forgiven. This event would be the start of the Protestant Reformation.

    Huldrych Zwingli

    Huldrych Zwingli
    Huldrych Zwingli led a reformation in Switzerland after hearing about others doing so. He also didn't believe in the selling of indulgences. This event would change the church in Switzerland.

    Poland

    Poland started a reformation. Roman Catholic was still the dominating religion during this time but Lutherism was starting to spread in the north. The polish version of Luther's Small Catechism was published during this time. The Small Catechism was Martin Luther's reviews of the Ten Commandments, Apostle's creed, the Lord's prayer, and other ideas of the Catholic Church. This event would cause a drop in Roman-Catholics in Poland.

    The start of the Puritan movement began. This event happeneed in England after the Counter-Reformation was a success.
