  • Presidential Award for Academic Achievment

    Presidential Award for Academic Achievment
It was the end of 5th grade and I was about to be one of the cool older kids. I was going to be a middle schooler! I had always gotten straight A's since kindergarden. I remember my name being called up for awards and I remember how accomplished I felt as the principal shook my hand and handed me the award.
  • Grandma passed away

    Grandma passed away
I was about to be 12. I couldn't wait to go to my birthday dinner, but first I had to get through state auditions for trumpet in the state band. I remember going to my audition and something didn't feel quite right. I went through my audition, yet I couldn't shake the ominous feeling I had in my gut. After my audition we all went to the Cheesecake Factory for my birthday. I had just plopped a delicious spoonful of cheesecake into my mouth when my mother told me. I knew my birthday would never f

Started all over agian in Arizona
I had been upset about the approaching move for months. I didn't want to leave all my friends and family. They just didn't understand and to make matters worse my parents chose to do it near my birthday. By the time we got into Arizona it was my birthday and also my first day at a new school where I was nobody.
  • Jazz Band

    Jazz Band
I had always loved playing my trumpet and music was my passion. I was so excited when I heard there would be jazz band rehearsal after school. I was even more ecstatic when I received the solo in Steep and Deep.
  • Joined Marching Band

     Joined Marching Band
It was the start of freshmen year and I knew exactly where I belonged... with the band geeks of course! I joined marching band and was soon made aware of the hard work it would require. Every night I came back from practice dog tired, but it was all worth it when we made it to the Arizona state ABODA marching championship.
  • Met Austin Villas

    Met Austin Villas
I met him through band and he had this funny, shy way about him. I noticed he had trouble speaking to other girls, but he would talk to me and occasionally shoot a quick glance in my direction. I didn't realize at the time how much he would impact my life, but I soon realized how lovely his company was.
  • Wind Ensemble

    Wind Ensemble
I had successfully completed my first regional audition in Arizona and I was proud to say that I had survived though I was pretty nervous. The scores really paid off as I was moved up to the most elite band at my school. I was put into the wind ensemble.
  • Sophomore Year

    Sophomore Year
It was the beginning of sophomore year and I couldn't wait to see what the future would hold. I did not know that I would bring so much upon myself though. Sophomore has been slamming me with work, but I have to admit I do love a good challenge.
  • National Student Leadership Conference

    National Student Leadership Conference
I was invited to the National Student Leadership Conference. The trip is to go to Harvard for two weeks either this summer or next to study under a renowned surgeon for two weeks. After the trip the surgeon will write me recommendations to any college I wanted to go to. Funny things is a doctor wrote me a letter also inviting me to study under another surgeon for pre-med credit at the National Youth Leadership Conference. I can't wait!
  • Regional Auditions Round 2

    Regional Auditions Round 2
Regional Auditions round 2! I was so nervous, yet so much more prepared and I was ready for the challenged. I walked in adequate and came out feeling like a winner.
