When I, Josh Counts, was born
This is important because without this happening then I would not be alive. -
I fell on a steak knife and almost died.
This is very important because, I almost died. The knife went into my chest right beside my heart and almost punctured my lungs. I should have died, but God was not done with me yet. -
I started gymnastics
This is important because I fell in love with this sport, and still to this day I am involved with it through coaching. -
My first gymnastics competition
This was really when I fell in love with the sport of gymnastics because I got to compete and win some medals. This lead to my drive to want to win more medals. This sport also taught me how to accept losing because I did not win ever meet I entered, This sport shaped me as the competitor and a person that I am today -
I went to kindergarten
This is important because this began my journey to becoming interested in school, which lead to my interest in teaching! -
Accepted Christ into my life
This is where my walk with Christ began. I am still walking with him and without that moment I would not be the person I am today. -
My first job
I started working at my parents gymnastics business as an instructor. This is important because I have been a gymnastics coach ever since then. I have had that job for 7 years and counting. I never want to stop coaching, so this is a big part of my life. -
Had Mr. Patty for history- Professional
This was extremely important to my decision of becoming a teacher. Mr. Patty was so passioate and enthusiastic about teaching history that it rubbed off on all of his students. Even if someone did not like history they fell in love with his class. He is a huge reason why I want to become a teacher because I want to try and give kids the same experience that I had with Mr. Patty. -
Got involved in younglife
This was important because I got involved in this ministry as soon as I began high school. It really helped me grow in my walk with Christ. This is a ministry I am still a part of as a leader! -
Got my Drivers license
This is important because it started my life of driving. I have never been so excited in my life! This also began my struggle with gas prices! -
Got accepted to Carson-Newman College- Professional
This was important to my professional career because this is where my journey at Carson Newman first started. -
Graduated highschool
This is very important because I got my diploma and was ready to go to college. -
Started College at Carson Newman College- Professional
This is where I began my journey toward deciding on becoming an education major. Carson Newman helped guide me toward becoming a teacher when I took my Career placement class Freshman year. -
I had my interview for the Carson Newman education department- Professional
This was very important because it helped reasure myself that I wanted to become a teacher, and it was also my first step in my acceptance into the education department. -
Began Block Schedule at Carson Newman University- Professional
This is important because this is where my real training begins for becoming a teacher. All of my classes are preparing me for teaching and getting me ready to start student teaching in the fall semester.
