Personal Timeline

  • My Birth

I was a small child from the day I was born, and a twin. Her name is Gabriela and she was born 6 minutes before I was. I was born in Mercy hospital, Bakersfield.
  • Preschool

In preschool my favorite teacher was Mrs. Ellie and Ms. Jan. They were always so nice and let me come in during recess to watch my favorite movie at the time, "Spirit, Stallion of the Cimarron." My favorite part of preschool was building the school garden and playing in the play sets by the garden.
  • My first pet

My first pet that I had full responsibility of, was my two goldfish. Their names were Shelly and Rooster, Shelly was a cute normal goldfish while Rooster had these huge bright colored feather like fins. I had both of them for about two months, and when Rooster died I hid under the table in the dining room until my mom found me. It was sad, but not only were the fish a first pet experience, but also an introduction to loss.
  • Playing the trumpet

In 5th grade I enrolled in band in my elementary school. I had always loved to go to parades, and rather than being interested in the big colored floats or people on horses, I became interested in all of the marching bands preforming. I decided to try the trumpet for band, and I loved it. I was first chair in elementary school and had a passion for it. Although playing the trumpet didn't nessacerilly last, I formed a strong bond with music and it has shaped the type of person I am today.
  • Trying out for Avid

In my sixth grade year my teacher, Mrs. Aro, told the class of a program that introduces colleges and requires an audition to be accepted. This very much interested me, and I decided to give it a try. I studied big words and practiced what to say in my room because I really wanted to get in. In the end I made it into the Avid program, although I didnt care for it at all, it was a great experience and taught me how to be more social and come out of my shell a bit.
  • Introduced to the french horn

In 7th grade there were way too many trumpets in band, So my teacher, Mr. Martin asked me to switch to french horn. Me and my partner at the time decided to make the switch and try it out. I remember at the time that I was so in love and focused on the trumpet, that I closed my mind to the thought of trying something new. Playing horn opened my mind and because I now love it and have a burning passion for it, I find myself looking to always try new things and make different decisions.
  • First parade

I remember in seventh grade, all of the marching practices we had before school and how difficult it was. I hated marching in middle school because french horns are not supposed to be marched with, they are a concert instrument. Although I hated marching band, all of it was worth it in the end for my first parade. It was so much fun and it just goes to show that even though something might not be ideal, the amount of effort and hard work you put into it will always make it worth it in the end.
  • Trouble with my teacher

In eighth grade, there was a teacher who I did not like at all. It was my math teacher, and considering that math is my worst subject by far, it wasn't good that he was monotone and could give less cares about his job then anyone. Still, I needed good grades. When I could not understand the material given in class, most of my time at home was spent studying it. I passed math, and although the situation wasn't ideal I managed. This shows that in any hard situation you must push though.
  • My first relationship

My first relationship taught me a lot of things. It made me happy at times, but overall I let things happen that I know in my mind and heart shouldn't have.I have always had some issues with myself, the thought of someone liking me just made me do some stupid things, and let stupid things happen My first relationship is one I wished I could go back and never let happen again, but at the same time,it was necessary.I learned what type of things I should expect,I am one of a kind, and deserve so much.
  • My marching band solo

I played mellophone for marching season,I was getting better than the section leader. He was a senior, because of that he wouldn't help me with things as a result of me beating him in the playing area. In the field show, there was a mello solo.I really wanted it,but Isaiah wouldn't help me practice it because he wanted it.I decided to go for it.The day of the audition I played beautifully, and the solo was mine.No matter what people think, always do want you want to do.You make your own decisions.
