Personal Timeline

  • Grammar School

I went to St. Joseph School for grammar school. I attended St. Joseph's from kindergarten to eighth grade. At St. Joseph's I received a Christian Education which I have greatly valued even though I am not as devoted of a Christian as the Pope or a priest. Thanks to Christianity I learned how to treat fellow people and be respectful which helped me down the road, today, and in the future.
  • Adopted Sister

On May 13, 2010, my parents and I adopted a girl from Russia named Albina; today Albina is my sister. This event shaped my life because for the first time in my life I wasn't an only child and had to learn how to share and get along with her and others.
  • Europe

On July 9, 2013 I started my trip abroad with other soon to be Freshmen. On my trip I saw many famous sights across Europe such as Big Ben, the Eiffel Tower, and the Eye. At the end of my three week trip I felt that I learned more about the world in general and about differences in daily lives and cultures.
  • Freshman Year

Freshman Year I took Intro to Business and ever since I've known I wanted to major in business in college. Even though I still don't know exactly what my major in business is going to be, I know what field I want to major in and can look for colleges based on that. Also, knowing what I want to study gave me ideas of what clubs and extracurricular activities that I want to participate in.
  • Hosted a Spanish exchange student

Hosting a Spanish exchange student from Malaga, Spain was amazing. It was great to make friends with a fellow high schooler and gave me another opportunity to improve my spanish speaking skills and increase my understandings about other cultures.

Also, a goal more related to today, I hope to beat my dad’s ACT score of 29. Finally, I feel that I will be successful in business in life because of everything that I have been given thanks in part to my parents.

Also, going overseas and hosting an exchange student has greatly improved my understanding of life outside of Libertyville which will help in business. Lastly, thanks to my Freshman year and my parents I am going to major in business which I may never have done if I didn’t take Intro to Business Freshman year. In life I hope to graduate from college with a major in something business related as well as within 5 years making two hundred thousand dollars a year.
  • Timeline

In conclusion, I would describe myself as funny, knowledgeable, and level-headed. I feel that going to St. Joseph School, having an adopted sister, having international experiences, and my interest in business have prepared me well for life after high school. Going to St Joe’s gave me fundamental knowledge that I use everyday from typing to math class. Not being an only child provided me with a different perspective on life than being a single child: not everything is about me.
