I Was Born!
When I was born, I was a ray of sunshine to all of my family, literally. My hair was bright blonde, and my family was super excited because I was not only the first kid born in my family at home, I was the first kid born in my WHOLE family. That means that I got all of the attention, I'm always the favorite, and I'm in charge because I started it all. -
Barack Obama Became President!
It was a big deal when Barack Obama became our forty-fourth president because he was the first African-American president. You can tell he was important because he got elected for president a second time. He beat John McCain in the first election and Mitt Romney in the second one. Everyone thought that Obama had good ideas for our country, maybe partially because he was a senator in Illinois before running for president. He probably would have been chosen a third time for president if possible. -
My Younger Brother Gavin Was Born!
When my brother was born, I was OBSESSED! I loved having a younger sibling around to play with all of the time. The only bad thing about him when he was born was that he stole all of the attention away from me, which I didn't care that much about back then. He was sort of like an object to me, and I used him for a lot of things, which I still do now. -
The Cardinals Won the World Series!
After the fifth inning, it was clear to the St. Louis Cardinals that they just won their eleventh world series against the Texas Rangers! The game started pretty dully and hopeless, but as each inning went by, it got more and more exciting to watch! Chris Carpenter and David Freese helped out a lot during this game, but everyone on the team did a great job working hard throughout the whole season! -
The Summer Olympics Took Place!
The Summer Olympics opened for the third time in London, where more than 10,000 athletes from 205 countries participated in the games. Up to 180,000 spectators entered the park a day to enjoy the games. Many people watched the Olympic games at home on their tv, because the different events are fun and interesting to watch. Amazing sprinter Usain Bolt and great swimmer Michael Phelps participated in the Olympics, and both won gold medals in their events. -
I Got Glasses!
When I was a little girl, I always wanted glasses, but when the time came for me to wear them, I didn't want anything to do with them! I would take them off every five minutes because they hurt my eyes and ears. I did think the glasses made me look better though, especially with shorter hair. I knew that there was the option to get contacts, but I thought those would be hard work. Ever since then, I've always wondered what it would be like to have perfect vision and not have to wear glasses. -
The Rams Moved to LA.
Everybody in St. Louis loved the Rams, even if they didn't win the Superbowl very often. All of the little kids had fun watching Rampage do flips, and the cheerleaders cheer. There were also lots of Rams themed events families could attend to, which was great for when you needed to get out of the house. It was a horrible tragedy when the Rams moved because all of the fans were missing out on the main football team. My dad didn't like it at all, especially since he named Rampage himself. -
I Got My Pet Bunny Nala!
I was super eager to get my pet bunny Nala, but little did I know it was going to be a lot of work. Nala was scared when I took her home in the car, and she was wrapped in a towel not moving at all. When I got home, I showed the tiny fluffball a tour of the house, and let her hop around a little. Then I let her sit in my lap while I watched a movie, and I fell in love, she was so cute! She destroys some of my property in my room now, but I'm okay with it because I can play around with her. -
My Baby Cousin Lucy Was Born!
I was super excited when Lucy was born because it meant that when I went to family gatherings, a baby would always be around to play with. I was even more excited that she was a girl so that I could be a big influence on her because she's the youngest girl in our family. I love her so much because she's so cute when she smiles, and she runs around everywhere playing games with us, chewing on random things as she goes. I'm excited to spend my future years with her becoming her best friend. -
The Blues Won the Stanley Cup!
Everybody was counting on the St. Louis Blues to win the Stanley Cup, especially because they hadn't won a single one yet! The anticipation was killing the fans, but by the third period, the Blues had it in the bag. Jordan Binnington was such a great backup goalie, and he worked hard to get the team through the season. Everyone was so amazed and went wild after they won against the Boston Bruins, and wouldn't stop playing Gloria. Congratulations Blues, we will never forget that moment.
