I was three. I had to live with Mr. Robert and Miss Tiki for a few years because I couldn't live with my birth parents. They taught me how to tie my shoes and write my name. I knew there would be people there to take care of me.

I was six. I was with her for a long time. She taught me how to not be angry all the time. She was a long time family friend before I was even born.

I was seven. It was a long day and I was happy. I have a forever family. I'm a better person than I probably would have been if I hadn't been adopted. I've learned that your family will always be there for you.

I was 12. I had to leave all my old friends behind and make new ones. I moved closer to family so I get to see them more often than twice a year. No one knew who I was so I could have a new start.

I was 14 years old. Marching band is like a family. There are good people there and I met my first friends from school there. They are people I can actually call friends. I've learned to be more responsible because I have to get good grades to march.
