Technological memories -
Green and Yellow,
Red then Green,
Blue, no Red!
BUZZ!...you're mean! -
Here it was,
it was the first,
my first Atari,
which was probably the worst. -
Snap and appear,
that's the game,
taking a photo
would never be the same. -
First they were big,
then they were small,
then they disappeared until there was nothing at all... -
Around this time,
for me at least,
a series of tubes began the beast,
the Internet would soon
become the required tool,
unknown by none.
unused by the Fool. -
Around this time,
I do recall,
an operating system
to rule them all... -
In '96, as I can tell,
I got my first laptop,
with whistles and bells.
It weighed a million pounds and was 20 feet thick,
it had a dial-up modem that was always quite sick. -
Ah '97,
yes indeeed,
the first time my Internet had any speed. -
I believe it was here,
in one nine nine nine,
when my Internet went wireless,
leaving cables behind. -
I first saw the iPod in 2001,
it was clunky and heavy and wasn't much fun.
But it was all the same, and soon we would see,
the unstoppable Juggernaut it's now come to be. -
Introductions around,
and everyone's here,
it's my first time on YouTube,
which is now held quite dear. -
I didn't have one,
it would take me a while,
but I played with an iPhone,
and it sure made me smile. -
In 2008, the App store first dropped.
In 2009, it made my heart stop.
With so many choices, and so many styles,
which App do you choose, and for how many miles? -
I got a Kinect,
what can I say?
It wasn't very good,
so I threw it away. -
Harness the Sun!
I said with a grin.
It's my power now!
Store it in a bin!
Keep it locked up,
far out of sight,
to keep my house humming,
long through the night. -
I don't really like it,
it's clumsy at best,
but systems like Apple Pay,
are on tomorrow's crest.
It's convenient and quick,
surely real great,
instead of carrying coins,
which are so much dead weight. -
I sit at my workstation, half-way 'round the world,
on a blazing computer, all knowledge unfurled.
I have high-speed internet, and am streaming some tunes, drinking carbonated water, looking at mylar ballons.
I communicate online, with peeps near and far, typing and talking, an Internet star.
Technology's come such a long, winding way,
starting long before I and long past this day.
Thus ends the chronology, this timeline of mine,
I've learned how to use it: hope you had a good time.
