Personal Narrative Timeline

  • First Trip to Disney World

My first trip to Disney World was the first family tradition I was brought into. This has been an anual trip every spring or summer break, and it is one of my favorite things to do as a family. This event in my life started all the close ties in my family and is one of the main reason I am so close with my family. This first trip helped shape me into a kinder person, because I link these great memories to my family.
  • First Musical

On this day, I saw my fist live performance of any musical. It was "Into the Woods" and it was performed at Hawthorn Middle School North. I saw it on the annual 5th grade field trip to go watch the middle school's spring musical. Although it wasn't the most high quality show I've ever seen, it inspired me to go out for the musical the next year. This event made more independent and individualistic because none of my friends did theatre at the time, but I stuck to what I enjoyed doing.
  • First Day of High School

The first day or freshman year really did help shape me to be the person I am today. It helped because I was coming from a middle school in Vernon Hills to a school in Libertyville, so I only knew two people going into the first day. This day taught me that I had to put myself out there and be myself to make friends, because without friends, high school would be miserable. This day taught me to be much less shy around strangers and taught me to be myself around everyone.
  • First High School Musical

The day I found out I made the fall musical was a day that also shaped me in the long run. I was one of about five freshman that made the musical that year, so it was a really big moment for me. This event in my life shaped me as more of a dreamer and incouraged me to reach for the stars, and not listen to others that say it's impossible to succeed in the fine arts. I'm still in the theatre program today at LHS and it is what I want to major in when I go to college.
  • My Friend's (Almost) Move

When my friend's mom re-married, she told me that she might have to move, because her step dad was in the military. She told me that she had a few months before she found out if she was going to stay or move to Washington D.C. This made me cherish whenever we were together with all of our friends. After she found out she didn't have to move I decided that I would make every minute count with my friends while I still had time with them. This event in my life made me a much more caring person.
  • Conclusion?

These past five events have definately been key factors to making me who I am today. If these didn't occur in my life, I might be a completely different person. I would decribe myself as a kind, caring, hopeful, and individualistic person, because of these events. I want to be successful in what I love in my life, and that's performing. I think that if you don't do what you love, you're not truly enjoying life. I believe that you should dream big and find friends to help you along the way.
