Percy is attacked by Mrs. Dodds, who transforms into a Fury and furiously attacks Percy while on a class trip.

The discovery
Percy discovers that he is a demi-god, the son of Poseidon to be precise. And learns about camp Half-blood, a safe place for demi-gods like him.

The first beast
Percy along with his mother, Sally, are attacked by a beast like creature called the Minotaur. Percy's mom disappears, leaving percy by himself.

The Arrival
Percy arrives at Camp Half-blood and finds out who his father really is by accident.

The friendships
Percy befriends Grover, a satyr with animal legs, and Annabeth, a daughter of Athena.

The group of friends encounter various monsters and challanges on their journey, some of which are the Lotus Casino and Medusa.

The betrayal
Percy quickly realises that Luke, a former member of Camp-halfblood, is working with Kronos to overthrow the gods.

The Underworld
Percy and his friends enter the Underworld to speak with the god, Hades and retrieve the lightning bolt from him.
Chapter 12-14 -

The Confrontation
Percy learns that Luke was the one that stole the zeus while confronting him. Luke then gives it to Percy to retrieve it to Zeus.
Chapter 15 -

Ares
Percy fights Ares and eventually defeats the god of war, in a duel over the lightning bolt.
Chapter 17 -

The return
The friendgroup return the lightning bolt to Zeus, who spares Percy's life and agrees to spare Poseidon's aswell.
Chapter 18 -
13
The reward
Percy is rewarded with a trip to Olympus and is offered a position as a god. Percy declines.
Chapter 19 -
14
The reunion
Percy learns that his mother is alive and is being held captive by the evil god, Hades. Percy decides to set out on a new quest to save her from Hades.
Chapter 20 -
15
A new discovery
The friendgroup discovers that the master bolt actually wasn't stolen by the traitor, Luke, but by the god of war, Ares, who was working with Kronos.
Chapter 21 -
16
The Underworld....again
Percy and his friends go to the underworld yet again to rescue his mother and defeat Hades once and for all

17
The Final Battle
Percy fights Ares once again, and defeats the god. Percy retrieves the master bolt and takes it with him.
Chapter 25 -

The Honorable friendgroup
The friend group are honored as heroes and get to go back and return to camp Half-Blood.
Chapter 26 -

Poseidon
Percy's dad claims Percy as his son in front of the other gods, causing tension between them.
Chapter 28 -
20
The Final quest
The friendgroup decide to go on yet another quest to stop Kronos from rising from the ashes and threatening the world.
