I had been in Ghana and Ivory Coast for a while. Specifically 3 years. Away from my direct family. I had been in a secluded town away from the capital of Ghana, Accra. At first when I got there I was so sad and scared even up until the point that I left. My parents finally decided that it was time I came back so I came back to the states for the first time in 3 years. So many things had changed. The furniture in out house, we had a newer car. -
Going to Woodbury every year around Christmas gift shopping and just a way to spend family time together and have fun. We went house looking first since my parents were thinking of moving. I remember it was snowing when we went and we brought a couple suitcases so that we wouldn't have to go back to the car every time we bought something. It was a fun experience and it was great way for us to spend out day. -
We started the move in late 2018 like in december we came up here for the first time from the Bronx. When we officially moved, it was a hard time adjusting for all of us but mainly my brother and I. We were used to the city life and I didn't want it to be like I was leaving a significant part of myself. -
At the peak of Covid, people were isolated and so were the streets but since my parents have grocery store, it was considered essential work so we would do door to door deliveries specifically to people who couldn't leave home or just could not afford necessities due to heavy unemployment. We would leave every morning from home and start out day in the isolated streets of New York. Indeed, "the city that never sleeps was taking a nap". It was a huge adjustment that was needed. -
After the George Floyd incident, Black Lives Matter protests were going on. It was very "revolutionary". I remember it happened the day after my birthday, it was so unexpected and this was just in the beginning of the summer so it gave an excuse for people to come out of the house for the first time in months. I went to some protests in the city and held up signs for hours, it was dangerous but also fun. It changed the way I viewed the US, it was amazing to see the support from people. -
During christmas break, I went to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to visit my sister/ cousin. We didn't really do much since it was cold and snowing outside on the first day I got there. We went grocery shopping since her mom was cooking. We celebrated her little brother's bday we helped cook and invited some people over then called it a day. The next day, the 26th, we went shopping at Capital City mall, we got some new shoes and clothes, got some food then went home. -
It was the first wedding I had to go to in almost a decade. My sister was part of the wedding, she was a bridesmaid so she wanted me and my cousin to come to the wedding with her since it was close to where she lived in connecticut. The unpreparation was real, we had very little information of what to do and where to go. The point is that I made good memories and that was an event I definitely needed to go to, since it was some of the few fun times of my summer.

As part of my mom's business, we do deliveries of some of her goods. So one weekend we couldn't find any truckers and so me and my mom went to Pennsylvania to do deliveries to her customers while my dad and my brothers drove to Nashville, Tennessee. We went to Philly first, then headed up to Allentown and stayed overnight at a hotel, the 4 points by Sheraton, by Dorney Park. We went to the park and went on some rides then later on we went and visited her friend and had Chic-fil-A. -
Summer 2021, I didn't get to do the typical things most people do in the summer which are to go out like everyday and hangout with friends and travel a lot. I had to go to as many summer workouts for soccer as I could just to show my commitment to making the soccer team. After 2 hour practices in the heat, I would go to the city and work in my moms store since my parents were away on vacation. It paid off though since I made JV. Since it was my 1st time playing in a team

It was our first away game on 4/26/22 I was on the sidelines for a while just cheering my team on and in the second half of the game, coach Castaldo put me in for defense. I play safety so I was preventing any opposing player from getting past me. With 12 mins left, their QB throws the ball in the air. I back peddle and go for the ball not intending it to fall in my hands. But it did. I had just got an interception and I didn't even know what to do with it since it was so unexpected.
