February 11, 1999 the most significant life event because I was born.Had this event not happened I would not be here today, obviously. My birth story is pretty dramatic. I was born with the umbilical cord wrapped around my neck. I've been causing my parents stress since my birth.

At around 8 or 9 years old, we moved from Florida to Arizona.I did NOT want to move at all. I had my best friend, Alexis, and we had gotten very close. I didn't want to leave Florida because all my cousins live there and it's all I had ever known.

At 10, my dad told me he has another daughter in Puerto Rico. She lives with her mom and is 15 years old.At the time I thought it was really cool. I now had two older sisters. I started telling all my friends, I have a sister I didn't know existed living in Puerto Rico!

At 13, started hanging out with the wrong crowd and started experimenting with illegal substances and alcohol. I started not liking myself at all, my physical appearance and who I had become.I had separated from one of my good friends and started hanging out with the "cool" kids. I did just about everything they did without questioning it.

At 13, I went to my first concert, Ed Sheeran. I cried a lot. My Irish friend took me for my birthday before she moved back to Dublin.I had just transferred schools and my friend, Jennifer, had just moved to the states from Ireland. I heard she was from Ireland and thought, "Omg, I wonder if she's an Ed Sheeran fan!" Turns out she was. We bonded over that and became close friends and she surprised me with tickets to his concert for my birthday. We used her Irish accent to get us to the front.

At 14, I met my best friend Hailey Hernandez. She was the positive influence in my life I needed when I was thirteen. My freshman year, I went to a boarding school in Scottsdale. I knew some people because my sister was a junior there but no upperclassmen were going to want to hang out with me. I met Hailey because we had literally the exact same schedule for the entire school year. We became very close and to the day we are best friends and do just about everything together.

At 15, I met my sister for the first time and her daughter, my niece, Aleishka. This was probably the most awkward moment of my life. My sister only speaks Spanish. While I am fluent in Spanish, her Spanish is different, she speaks Puerto Rican Spanish and I know Mexican Spanish. There are many differences. Also the first time we met, she was already a mother. So getting to know her was a task since she had a one year old to take care of.

At 15, I started doing online school. I had a falling out with my science teacher in public school so I removed myself from that situation. My teacher and I got into a bit of a riff because I was upset he wasn't teaching me what I needed to know for that year in Biology. That same day I withdrew and went to Primavera, took a tour and enrolled.

My uncle Juan Manuel (John) passed away on October 9, 2015. Very sudden. My mom and I were out shopping for a camping trip we had planned for that weekend while at the checkout in Costco she got a call from my uncle Willy, that he had just passed away. My uncle John was a very healthy man. He owned a rehabilitation center, he knew a lot about health and was very fit. He had just finished working out and didn't cool down properly and had an aneurysm. His last words were, "I feel dizzy."

At 16, I stopped pretending to be someone I'm not. I started reading again, and letting my inner geek out. I am much happier. I used to be so concerned about what people thought about me. I wanted to be cool and have lots of friends. So I did what the cool kids did. Listen to Rap music and go out to kickbacks and things like that. Stuff I actually didn't enjoy. I realized I didn't do any of those things because I wanted to, so I stopped. I'd rather watch a Game of Thrones marathon with friends.
