Napoleon did preserve the gains/goals of the Revolution. For one he brought together the Catholic church and The French government who at first, held grudges against one another. But that was all put in the past. Also He created new Law codes for the whole nation instead of the 300 law codes. He limited it to seven, and there is only one important law of codes to follow. The Civil Law, or the Napoleonic code.
