The Concordat of 1801 was an agreement between Napoleon and Pope Pius VII where they signed a bunch of rules that made the Roman Catholic Church the main church on France, happening on July 15th, 1801. It is considered a success because it brought national senses of friendship between Revolutionaries and Catholics.

Napoleon’s First Consul refers to an event where Napoleon legislated a new constitution that he himself made that his son would rule in the future (even though he wasn’t born). It was signed on August 1802. It was considered a mixture because he had a plan that his legacy would continue if and/or when he passed away but he also had to take bigger steps than expected to make this come to fruition that pleased Napoleon.

The Napoleonic Code was and still is the French civil code that increased the authority of men in their homes, removed women of their individual rights, and even reduced the rights of illegitimate children. It was published and put into work on March 21st, 1804. It is considered a success since the code is still going until this day, however it has been amended.

The French Consulate, or Le Consulat, was the French government that was established on November 10th, 1799, but it was disbanded in the same day that Napoleon declared himself as emperor on May 18th, 1804. It is considered a mixture of success and failure since they gained a man with amazing leadership and military skills, however they essentially lost the government to a man who became the government.

Napoleon’s Self Coronation Ceremony was an event where by taking the crown of Pope Pius VII, he made himself emperor and with that, his wife Josephine empress. He proclaimed himself as emperor on May 18th, 1804, but the ceremony was officially held on December 2nd, 1804. It is considered a success because he led France to several victories and they had a military genius on command.

The Battle of Trafalgar was a fight between the British Royal Navy and the French fleets (merged with Spanish Navies). It happened on October 21st, 1805, during the War of the Third Coalition. The British ended up winning, so it is considered a failure on France’s side.

The End of the Holy Roman Empire occurred when the last Holy Roman Emperor, Francis II, abdicated from power and let go of the states and gave them back to their respective owners. It is considered a mixture but leans toward the failure side more since it did affect Great Britain, but it didn’t work for long since Napoleon’s plan to get a boycott using the other European countries failed.

The Resistance in Spain, or the Peninsular War, was a military campaign fought in the Iberian Peninsula, which it’s sides being Spain, Portugal, and the United Kingdom against France during the Napoleonic Wars. It started on May 2nd, 1808 and finally ended on April 17th, 1814. It is considered a failure since France was overpowered by the Spanish, Portuguese, and English troops and navies, ending the war.

The Russian Campaign was a conflict in which Napoleon went to confront and force Russia to join back on the Continental System blockade. It occurred from June 24th, 1812, to December 14, 1821. It is considered a failure since when they got in Russia, the Russians instead burned their crops and moved to the East, they slowly starved and lost their men.

The Battle of Nations, also known as the Battle of Leipzig was a battle that was directed to remove the Confederation of the Rhine by defeating France. It lasted from October 16th, 1813, to October 19th, 1813. It is considered a failure since France failed and had the Confederation dissolved and France losing control of the territory east of the Rhine.

Napoleon’s Abdications were a series of Napoleon forcefully stepping down from power due to abusing his authority. The first abdication was on April 18th, 1814, where he was exiled to the Island of Elba. The second abdication was on June 22nd, 1815, where he was exiled to the Island of St. Helena, the place he’d later pass away. This is considered a mixture since when Napoleon came from his first exile, he brought his order for a period of time before he was exiled again, but he went too far.

The Hundred Days is a name that refers to Napoleon’s return from his 11-month exile in Elba Island. It lasted from March 20th, 1815 to July 8th, 1815. It is considered a failure since this marked Napoleon’s final time before he’d be exiled for good.

It ended on June 18th, 1815 and it marked the end of the Revolutionary French Wars. It is considered a failure because they lost and Napoleon was abdicated and exiled to St. Helena Island, where he’d later pass away.
