Napoleon had made another mistake, and had sent an invasion force through Spain, instead of trying to convince Portugal to accept the Continental System. Both of them broke into a 6 year war, with SPanish peasant fighters and French armies. Britain had sent people to help heal on the Spanish side, which worked against Napoleon. Napoleon lost 300,000 men during this war.
