    Revolutionary wars led by a young and largely unknown commander Napoleon Bonaparte. He led the French to victory which brought him great popularity
  • Egyptian Campaign 🟑

    Early in Napoleons military career he invaded Egypt. The campaign itself is a total failure, they are defeated in Egypt. Napoleon however abandons his men and returns to France a hero, lying about his campaign in France. This ultimately brings popularity to his character and he is highly respected.

    In a coup d’etat Napoleon Bonaparte and Abbe Sieyes set up a three consul system. Later Napoleon becomes first consul. This event marks the beginning of Napoleons rise to power.

    Established in 1800 to help with the economic upheavals following the revolution. This bank still exists today in France.

    Napoleon reaches an agreement with Pope Pius VII to reinstate the Catholic Church in France. The deal Napoleon negotiated was favorable as he managed to keep all the ex-church lands and gained control over the French Catholic Church.

    Napoleon is appointed consul for life. This title gives Napoleon even more power over France and Europe.

    Set of laws inspired mostly from Enlightenment ideas, displaying ideas such as equality of man and the abolition of feudal rule. However women lost most of their newly gained rights

    A lavish ceremony costing the government upwards of $1 million. For this ceremony Napoleon and his wife traveled from the Tuileries Palace to the Notre Dame de Paris Cathedral. They were followed by many carriages and 80000 foot soldiers. The ceremony lasted 3 hours and was assisted by the Pope Pius VII. Napoleon took the crown from the Pope and crowned himself emperor, following his Wife as Empress and his sisters as Princesses.

    Battle between French and Spanish against the British fleet led by Horatio Nelson. The battle was won by the British. This battle was a total failure for Napoleon as it crushed his ambitions to invade England.

    After Napoleons victory at Ulm and Austerlitz, he dissolved the HRE and annexed its states. This was a bold but advantageous move for Napoleon as he was eliminating a dangerous enemy.

    The decree of Berlin and Milan put forward by Napoleon, these decrees stated that British ships were not allowed in any French or European ports. This caused the British to go to war with France and the US after the US attacked them for sanctions. In the long run these decrees failed Napoleon.

    After Napoleon invaded Spain in 1808, the loyal Spaniards countinued to fight a bloody war with the French. The spanish remaining loyal to the Catholic Church conducted campaigns of guerilla warfare and eventually drew the French out in 1814 after Napoleons defeat to the 6th Coalition.

    Leading to French defeat and the end of French power and influence throughout Germany and Poland.

    Napoleon and his troops pushed into Moscow in June. When they arrived in Moscow it was practically deserted. They burnt the city but were forced to leave because of the weather.

    After coming out of exile from Elba Napoleon is immediately attacked by the seventh coalition. He will fight in battles and ultimately meet his end at Waterloo, where he will be sent to St.Helena and die.

    Battle fought in Belgium by the French against the British and Dutch. Ultimately leading to Napoleons downfall and final exile to St.Helena

    Napoleon abdicates (renounces) his throne and is exiled to Elba where he later dies. This marks the final part of Napoleons life as he no longer accomplishes anything after this.
