Apr 20, 1792

Italian Campaign

This was a good campaign for Napoleon. He had won land in Italy through many battles and gained more world power, what he wanted.

Jul 1, 1798

The Egyptian Campaign (red)

This was a horrible campaign for Napoleon. He suffered loss after loss and in the end, he deserted his men and went back to France. He told France he won and surprisingly, they believed him.

Jan 18, 1800

Banque de France (green)

This was one of the best improvements Napoleon made to France. He redid the whole economic system and it helped France out a lot. It got more Frenchmen on his side.

Jul 15, 1801

The Concordat of 1801 (green)

This gave Napoleon power over the Catholic Church. It defined what power the Catholic Church had in France, and it wasn’t much at all.

1802

Consul for Life (green)

This was very good for Napoleon. He was now had set up a new constitution with him at the head. He had gained support from the people, giving him more power.

1804

Napoleonic Code (yellow)

This code made equality through all classes in France. They brought back religious toleration. Sadly, women had lost all the rights they had recently gained from the revolution.

May 18, 1804

Consulate (green)

This was very good for Napoleon. He had successfully couped the government of France and set up his own 5 person consulate, with him at the head.

Dec 2, 1804

Napoleon Crowns himself Emperor (green)

This was very good for Napoleon. He now had essentially absolute power, and used it to reform France for the better, so it was also good for France.

Oct 21, 1805

Battle of Trafalgar (Red)

This was a navel fight fought between Napoleon and Britain. This wasn’t good for Napoleon or the French since they were beaten by Britain.

1806

Abolished the Holy Roman Empire (green)

Napoleon was able to take control of this area of land and was able to defeat it, which made him greater and gave him more of the power he wanted.

Nov 21, 1806

Continental System (yellow)

This was a win loss for Napoleon. He partly effected England, and it also helped French manufactures to sell more. The bad thing was that Napoleon didn’t have the sea power to fully enforce the Berlin and Milan decrees.

1812

Invasion of Russia (red)

This campaign would have gained the French people quite a bit of territory, but when the army of 600,000 made it to Moscow. The winter hit. Out of all those troops, only 20,000 returned.

Jun 21, 1813

Resistance in Spain (red)

When Napoleon was trying to conquer Spain, he put his brother on the throne. This didn’t go well for Napoleon or France. Riots happened in Madrid.

Oct 16, 1813

Battle of Nations at Leipzig (red)

This was a decisive loss for Napoleon. He was outnumbered and this was the start of his loss in fame in France.

Period: Mar 20, 1815 to Jul 8, 1815

The Hundred Days (yellow)

This was good for Napoleon in the beginning, with him escaping his exile, but during these hundred days, he also suffered a horrible defeat and was sent back into exile.

Jun 18, 1815

Waterloo (red)

This battle was a loss for Napoleon. He lost to Gebhard Leberecht von Blücher who controlled the opposers groups. He lost a lot of support from this battle and was exiled a second time because of it.
