    In May of 1796 Napoleon took his troops to face Italy but he was horribly outnumbered. He only had around 40,000 troops while the Austrians and Piedmontese had around 70,000 troops. Napoleon being significantly outnumbered he decided to divide and conquer! He started with the Austrians and then went for the Piedmontese. Napoleon won this battle and brought him up in society.

    In July of 1798 Napoleon went to Eygpt and it was a failure. The British ruined Napoleon’s chance of the campaign and stopped him right in his tracks and destroying his army. His ambitions of Eygpt ended with this battle.

    In the year 1799 Napoleon became a consul, a consulate is a very high government power. While there were three consuls Napoleon was really the one who people looked for in power. The other two were just figures. Becoming a consul helped Napoleon and his quest for Emeror.

    In June of 1800 Napoleon decided to create a bank for France called Banque de France or in english, Bank of France. France was in an economic struggle at this point in time. With this he introduced a new currency. This bank ensured his and the government’s control over all of France’s economy.

    In the year 1801 Napoleon met with papal and clerical figures to establish a document that let the church under the state’s control. Catholics were recognized in having their religious freedom.

    In the year 1802 Napoleon was given the role “ Consul for life” and it describes just what it is intended to do, he would be a Consul of France until his final day on Earth. This would serve him well for the time being but I believe that this is 50/50 because only a little under 2 decades later he would die.

    In the year 1804 Napoleon established the Napoleonic Code which helped to solidify the man’s power over his family. Male citizens were now equal under law but slavery was reestablished and many reforms and laws for women in the renaissance were now stripped away from them.

    In the year 1804 Napoleon was declared Emperor of France. He decided to take the title emperor because he thought that Kings just came and went and they didn’t leave a real mark in history, while Emperor were unique and changed the tides of time. He invited the pope to his coronation to crown him only for Napoleon to crown himself and his wife as the new Emperor and Empress of France. This showed th Pope that Napoleon was not going to be bossed around by the Church and other Religious heads.

    In the year 1805 Napoleon with his French and Spanish fleets set out to defend themselves from the British navy who had naval supremacy for a little more than a century. The British wanted to destroy a Spanish fleet because they thought they were a threat to their naval supremacy. The Spanish and French lost and the British still had their naval supremacy.

    In the year 1806 Napoleon destroyed the Holy Roman Empire, Napoleon was never a fan of the Pope or his clergy and he wanted to get rid of them so he did sort of. their Empire was no more and they barely had any reign of the European land.

    In the year 1808 Napoleon wanted to take Portugal under their control so they decided to go through Spain but that didn’t last long for them. The Spanish refused to let them go so Napoleon decided to try and take spain as well. The British came to the rescue and stopped Napoleon from taking Portugal.

    In the year 1812 Napoleon decided to try and take Russia during the winter. If only he looked back in the history books and realized that it is impossible to defeat Russia’s army in the winter. He wasn’t able to take Moscow like he wanted.

    In the year 1813 Napoleon went to battle Austria, Prussia, Sweden, and Russia in Leipzig in Germany. Napoleon had gained Leipzig earlier but by the end of this battle he lost it.

    In the year 1814 Napoleon lost his power after Austria, Prussia, and Russia took their troops to France and successfully occupied Paris. They basically forced the man out of power.

    In November of 1814 Napoleon made a Continental System all around Europe to restrict trade to other countries. Unfortunately this didn’t last long for Napoleon.

    In March of 1815 Napoleon had came back from 8 months in exile. He realized he wasn’t as powerful as before since just a month after his return King Louis XVIII was restored.

    In June of 1815 Napoleon was finally defeated at Waterloo. Thia battle was for Napoleon to take control over Europe but sadly he never got that wish since he was defeated.
