Invaded Russia
Napoleon organized an army of 600,000 men to fight Russia. This was the largest army the world has ever seen. Instead of fighting, Russia retreated, drawing Napoleon and his army deeper into "Mother Russia". As the Russians retreated, they burned villages and food supplies, leaving nothing for the advancing French. This policy was titled the Scorched-Earth Policy. -
