Bonaparte was appointed artillery commander of the republican forces at the siege of Toulonbecause he was reconized by Augustin Robespierre because he published a pro-republican pamphlet. He adopted a plan to capture a hill by holding back their forces. He was promoted to brigadier general at the age of 24 and catching the attention of the Committee of Public Safety, he was put in charge of the artillery of France's Army of Italy.He was also wounded in this battle.

He was cowned at Milan Cathedral with the Irony Crown of Lombardy. He created 18 Marshals of the Empire with his top generals, to secure the alligance of his army. His reign lasted 9 yaers.

Battle of Borodino occurred just outside of Moscow. 44,000 Russians and 35,000 French were either dead, captured, or wounded. The Russian Empire won the war.

People began to resent him being French and turned against Napoleon, sending him into exile. There were many plans in place to rescue him but they all backed out. He often complained about the living conditions because it was almost if they were speeding up his death.

He died of stomach cancer. He lived for 51 years. He died in Longwood, Saint Helena.
