    Napoleaon Bonaparte is Born
    Napoleon Boneparte was born August 15, 1769. He was born on the island of Ajaccio. He was born into a wealthy family that was involved in politics. After he was born, the island was taken over by the French and this instilled an early hatred for the French by Napoleon. During his childhood he learned mathmatics that would help him out throught his whole life. (BBC News)

    Colonies were established in America by people of Great Britian who decided to escape from England's unfair rules and to obtain freedom of religion that was not based around the British throne. Americans were fed up with how the British were treating them so they decided to rebel. On July 4, 1776, America signed the Declaration of Independence. This created the United States of America.

    The war between America and Great Britian finally ended. Now Britian actually recognized America as a country. They signed a treaty called the Anglo-American Treaty. This gave some land west of the Mississippi and land south of the Great Lakes to America. Now that Britian was done fighting America they could focus their war efforts against the French.

    In 1784, Napolian moved from Cornica to Paris. Once there he enrolled in a royal military school. This school was the Ecole MIlitare. During his time at Ecole Militare, Napoleon would learn valuable leadership and artillary skills that would help him out through his entire military life.

    The guillotin was invented by Doctor Joseph Ignace Guillotin. A guillotin is a weapon used for executions. Simple in design, a guillotine is a wooden structure with a single, raised blade. When the blade is released, it falls with such force that it severs the head of the person being executed. It was created to provide Europe with a weapon was quick and without pain.

    The people of France are angry at the rulers begin to rebel. The French stormed the palace and killed the king and queen by guillotine. A new government is created called the French Rupublic. Napoleon likes that the old government collapsed.

    Napoleon Takes Toulon
    Napoleon took control of an artillary unit stationed outside a fort named Toulon. The English had already taken the fort and military efforts were not going well for the French. Napoleon pointed his artillary at the English fleet and nearly destroyed them. He next sent his foot soldiers into the fort to capture it and they did. For his efforts and leadership, Napoleon Bonaparte became a hero and great general. He was also promoted to Brigadier Gereral. (Kimberly)

    Napolean returned from Egypt and began to try to become ruler. First, he had to defeat his opposition. So he had his police state that his opponents had been plotting to destroy France and him. Then he executed them and looked very innocent. After he took control, he made a new constitution and created a new government.

    America had recently bought the Louisiana Purchase and needed somone to explore the land. President Thomas Jefferson hired Meriwether Lewis and William Clark. One of the main goals was to find a sea route from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean. Lewis and Clark never accomplished this goal. It took them a few years to track all of the land but they did and returned back to Eastern America.

    Napoleon invaded Austria, Prussia and Russia. He quickly destroyed and conquered Austria and Prussia. He, however, ran into some difficulties with Russia. After a large battle injured both sides, the leader of Russia, Alexandra, and Napoleon signed a truce. Napoleon did not ask for any land from him but he did ask for Russia to stop trading with England.

    Austria, Prussia and Russia felt treatened by Napoleon, so they united together and attacked him. Within no time, they had occupied Paris. This lead to Napoleon's surrender. Once defeated, Napoleon tried to kill himself but the pill he swallowed had lost its potency. His enemies send him off into exile on the small island of Elba. (Harry)

    Simon Bolivar was a great general of South America. He was one of the main contributors to many coutries in South America which gained their independence from Spain. During his life, Bolivar liberated countries like present day Panama, Colombia, Peru, Venezuela, Bolivia and Ecudor. He also had an entire country named in honor of him.
  • Napoleon Dies

    Napoleon Dies
    After being sent into exile, Napoleon returned to Paris and tried to start up his empire again. It failed when an English ship captured him. They then sent him to exile again to a small island in South America. Napoleon died there from stomach caner. He was fifty-one years old at the time of his death. (BBC News)
