    During the French Revolution Napoleon had become a great general for there army. He was given his own army and was supposed to be the sideshow while the main show in the north took out Austria. But while the northern army’s struggled he turned his decrepit army into a force. He pushed the Austrians out of Italy setting up sister republics along the way and forced Austria out of the war and over saw the signing to the peace treaty.

    The Egyptian campaign was a horrible for Napoleon. He spent most of his time exploring the wonders of Egypt but his army had gotten decimated and stranded by British forces so Napoleon abandoned his troops and returned to France and because Napoleon was a skilled propagandist he was able to make the events look like Napoleon was a hero.

    The consulate was an extremely good thing for France and Napoleon. It got rid of the extremely unpopular and inefficient government and put the extremely popular Napoleon in power and two other consuls, and they were much more efficient.

    Napoleon created the Banque de France to reset the economy of France. This stabilized the economy payed of the debts and issued notes.

    This brought the church back to France but without the power they had before and many restrictions to the church. This helped relations with the pope and the people.

    The old laws of France were a big incoherent mess but Napoleon took all the documents and some revolutionary ideals and other reformist ideas and wrote the Napoleonic code. But in the process he back scaled on the ideals of the revolution and mostly women’s rights.

    This was a terrible lose for Napoleon, the British destroyed the combined fleet of the French and Spanish fleet. Ruining Napoleons chances of ever invading Britain and ruined relations with Spain.

    The Holy Roman Empire was a great entity and was around for 1,000 of years until Emperor Francis dissolved it. This created a space for Napoleon to create more sister republics and decreased Austria’s power.

    The continental system was good for Napoleon because most nations blockaded British goods which unsteadied there economy but Britain’s blockade of the continent ruined the economy and many didn’t enforce the blockade either.

    This was Napoleons Vietnam, there gorilla warfare and aid from Britain and Portugal they ripped apart the French forces stationed there.

    Napoleon gather the largest army of all the coalitions of 600,000 men from all corners of his empire to strike to the heart of Russia. It took the months to reach the city of Moscow and took the capital. But by then the first sites of snow fall began to show and Napoleon knew he had to start to retreat along the way many froze or got picked off by the Russian army by the time the army got out of Russia there were only 10,000 soldiers left.

    The battle of Leipzig also know as the battle of the nations was were the sixth coalition finally defeated Napoleon and removed him from power exiling him to Elba.

    Napoleon was able to return with the help of his old comrades and through out the king but when the other nations learned of his arrive they formed the seventh coalition to stop him.

    This was Napoleons final and greatest defeat, despite his effort and planning the seventh coalition was much better equipped and had many more conscripts and Napoleon had to abdicate.

    After Napoleons lose at the battle of Waterloo, he was stripped of everything his power names and legacy, then he was banished to the small island in the middle of the Atlantic named St. Helen.
