Birth
I was born on May 1st 2000. My parents throughout these years have been so wonderful and have always tried to give me everything for me to be happy. Although we've had a lot of obstacles we've managed to stay happy. -
First Day of Kindergarten
The first day of school for me was so hard. Just thinking of being alone with many other kids I did not know scared me. Although my teacher was very kind I was still afraid of her but I eventually trusted her and stopped crying. The rest of the day went by fast and was very fun. -
Mom not coming home
This was one of the hardest days for me. It started when I came home from school one day and my whole family was in my house crying. I knew something had happened so I started asking around, but no one would tell me. Until later that night my aunt came up to me and told me my mom would not be coming home anytime soon due to how she was caught working illegally and would have to serve some time in jail. -
Mom leaving
After about a year later of my mom getting arrested she decided she wasn't going to fight for her case anymore and was just going to ask for a voluntary release. So on her next court case she talked to her lawyer and she agreed so the judge immediately gave her a voluntary release and she was deported to Nogales Sonora the next morning. My dad and I were already waiting for her on the Mexico side to greet her and after hugging her we started looking for a place for her to stay. -
Sister leaving
About five years after my mom was deported another sad day event happened to our family. One day when my sister, three of my aunts and two of my cousins were working together when one of Joe Arpio's famous roundups happened in their job. They were arrested immediately and were charged the same way like my mom and were deported to Nogales Sonora. Them leaving was very hard due to how they all had a lot of children. They stayed all stayed with my mom until they were able to solve their problem. -
My quinceñera
My quinceñera was something I had always been excited for. Although I wanted something small my mom had already invited a lot of our family so I knew it was going to be big. After school was over my dad and I traveled to Obregon Sonora and started getting everything ready for the next day. The next morning we went to the salon to get ready. It took about seven hours for everyone to be done. When we were back everyone was already there so we started off the party and danced all night. -
First Job
Finding a job when you are young and with no experience is tough. Although when the people hiring are in an urgent need of personal then they'll take anyone that walks in. My first job was working as housekeeping at Holiday Inn in Nogales Arizona. The job was very tough especially when I'd be working more then forty hours and cleaning twenty rooms in a day. Although the tips that would be left in the rooms were very worth it sometimes. -
Jalisco
This was the year we had promised my mom we would take her wherever she wanted. So my sister and I saved up for about six months and decided to take her to Jalisco to stay with my brother. Since it was an eighteen hour trip we decided to stop in Sinaloa to see some of my family and we went to the beach. When we arrived in Jalisco we went to the beach, went to some parties in the nights and just enjoyed the vacation for the rest of the week. -
Disneyland
Disneyland had always been the place I had dreamed of going when I was a child. My niece was going to turn 11 years old so my sister decided to take her to Disneyland. Even though it was her birthday she decided to invite me and one of her friends along. We both said yes and immediately packed and left the next day. The first night we slept in a hotel and the next day went to Disneyland at about nine in the morning. The whole day was very fun and was better then what I expected. -
Graduation
After twelve years of all the challenges and friendships the day has finally come where I become an adult and start to be independent. After I get my diploma I want to start school in the fall and attend NAU. I want to attend for the four years to get my bachelors as a BSN.
