The year 2012. It was definitely an interesting one. This was the year that I started my Freshman year in high-school. I played basketball and was such a skinny little kid. It feels so long ago since I was 14 and in high-school. Everything seemed to be so important then.

As for what was happening in the U.S. I remember that on November 6, 2012, Obama was re-elected for his second term as President of the United States.

Family is really important to me so in 2014 my sister graduated from high-school and got accepted to NC State University. I was very happy she got accepted, but I was very sad to see my best friend go. I am glad that now I get to go to the same school she went to.

Unfortunately the United States lost one of its greatest actors and public speakers in Robin Williams. He was one of my favorite comedians and actors and having him pass away this year was very significant and took the world by surprise.

This year was one of the best and worst years of my life. I graduated high-school and the next day I got on the bus to join the Marine Corp. I spent no time at all before I was moving into the military and I left everything else behind.

What a year. I remember sitting in the chow hall at a base in California watching with a bunch of my buddies Donald Trump get sworn in as president. What a time to be alive. I had no idea where he was going to take the military for the next four years of his term and me and my friends watched the inauguration with excitement.

I was promoted this year. I had worked hard and was making my way in the military without issue. I had made a lot of friends and it felt good to work hard and serve my country. I will never forget the experiences I have made over the years.

I remember a lot of tragic events happened this year. A lot of shootings happened and the tragedy that occurred at the school in Florida was heartbreaking. I will do whatever it takes to protect my future students and make sure that no harm will ever come to them.

My sister got married this year! It was so exciting to be apart of her wedding as one of the groomsman. I cried and bawled like a baby that day seeing my best friend in the whole world get married to the love of her life.

This year the coronavirus hit us super hard at around March and restrictions were placed all over the country. The United States was pushed to its limit this year from the leadership to its people.
