My father was in the army, stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska. My mother stayed at the army base during the full nine months of prenatal care. I was born on February 16, 1972, weighing 7 lbs, 12.5 oz. My mom said she could not stand the doctors, saying they were "crude". My mom flew me back to Michigan 8 days after giving birth.
