RJ has been my best friend for as long as I can remember. He has been a constant support in my life and has helped me through so many hard times. -
Lived with Gma and Gpa
We lived with my grandparents while our house was being built in North Salt Lake. I have so many memories with my cousins at their house. We would swim, play in the sandbox, slide down the stairs in pillow cases. These are some of my favorite memories as a child. My cousin Jordan never left my side. We did everything together and when we moved to NSL I missed him so much. He moved about six months later and came to my school. I remember feeling relieved and safe again just knowing he was close. -
8 Yrs Old
We moved from Rose Park to North Salt Lake.This This was a huge adjustment for me and I felt very uneasy. I had a hard time getting used to how different my new school was. After we moved my Mom had to get a part-time job which was hard because she wasn't around as much anymore. -
Met Emily Johnson
I met Emily Johnson when I was in fourth grade. The summer after we met my sister and I spent a lot of time at her house. Her parents who had been sober relapsed and started using drugs and drinking daily. Me, my sister, Emily and her two sisters spent the summer taking care of her brothers and sister. Her parents would leave for days a time. This was the first time I was introduced to alcohol and marijuana. -
Alyssa
My parents tried to adopt Alyssa Johnson (Emilys sister) when the kids got taken away by the state. The state would not let us adopt her and I was heart broken. I specifically remember how disappointed I was in our government. They kept giving these children back to parents who were putting them in so much danger and they wouldnt allow my parents to adopt her. -
Junior High
Attended South Davis Junior High. This was a very happy and hard time in my life.
